mjn
Gave it a post holiday wash and wax. And once i'd washed the dirt off, discovered that the rear roofbar has rubbed on the roof! Not f**king impressed. Will be writing to Thule.

Would be better with these though! http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=264516 This is why I no-longer browse that section of E30Zone! Dammit Joe! TriggerFish
You'd need to buy an e31 to put then on too...
Maxtek
I'd have thought they'd fit an E46 too? Even then, too small for an E46 and too big for an E30. Still, rare-ish goodies for a decent price, I have a habit of buying things with that description...
TriggerFish
They would fit/bolt up but would be a pain to get tyres sorted with such low offsets. 17s are perfect on an e46 imo Edited September 20, 2015 by TriggerFish
Shabaza
Joe, I totally agree with you, I love BMW style 5s. But I really want to score a set of 18" style 5s. theyre quite rare as they only came on the the e38 I think. I missed 2 sets Ive seen for sale over the last 2 years, as I took more than 2 days to action my interest. Surely that's a sign of getting old? How goes the e30? TriggerFish
They're a pain to clean though I started doing mine earlier and gave up. They do look good mind you. I've seen a few for sale before, usually 17s, but never with such awesome offsets! E30 goes well - nearly done. Just the radio and passenger seat to fit internally, and the boot spoiler and arch trims externally. Found some bubbling in the paint on the rear arches today though (woohoo - less than a year it's been painted, and it's been dry stored, and done about 300 miles, and it's still failing. They truly have done a crap job ... ). Ironically, these were sound before it went it for 'restoration'. Shabaza
The_Judge_
Today I changed the lower steering coupler and found that the old one looked good, but had slight play in the bearings, I also changed the front headlight levelling link rod as the old one was a bit past it and held together with zip ties. Also changed the N/S brake air duct and fog light, then found the bumper is split on the lower corner... Ho hum. Oh and a cat-back exhaust swap on dads punto. Any change street swapping the coupler? Stonesie
Yes, tramlining is reduced but still not eliminated. On payday i will be ordering some new tyres to get those P6000 off the front and that should sort it.

Bamse
Following the revelation that everyday I drive to work, my car only just gets up to temperature when I arrive, I've ordered both the main thermostat and the egr one from bmparts. Get it done before winter sets in and enjoy even better mpg
TriggerFish
Booked a test drive in an i3 for Saturday morning. I can lease one for roughly my monthly fuel spend, and charge at work for free... Faster 0-60 that my e46 too (on paper anyway), which surprised me. Haven't even been able to do a full tank yet but considering I was getting 45.6 before (620-650 a tank) I'm kinda excited to see how much I can get out a tank now haha. Just think about the depths of winter, getting into a pre-warmed/de-frosted car would be nice. About to drive mine to work, just changed the rear shocks on Dad's, I NEED a bigger compressor as that twin hammer impact gun is one air hungry beast.
