stutart
Hi Guys. For the last 2 weeks i've been scouring the BMW forums & the mighty google, looking for a decent set of wiring diagrams for my pre-facelift E46 'loon and have come up at a total loss. I downloaded a .PDF Format 'E46 service manual' (bentley) but there doesn't seem to be any proper wiring diagrams in it ? There's a few reasons why i need / want proper diagrams.. 1) i'm thinking about upgrading my hifi system, so need to know how to remove the old 10 Speaker HK set up that's already installed - including the cabling that runs from the doors, so i can put new beefier cable in, hopefully using the same locations... 2) The interior lights don't seem to be being triggered by the drivers door handle pull any more (worked fine up until we had all that rain here in Southend the other week) so i'd like to check the wiring on that. 3) at some point in the near distant future, i plan on retrofitting some more 'comfort lights' to the interior and want to know where i can splice in to the existing loom without having to take half the car apart ! 4) i'd like to instal electric folding mirrors at some point ! If anyone can point me in the right direction for proper detailed wiring diagrams that i can actually read / print out i would be most grateful !! Thanks folks. CharlE46
Bit strange, works perfectly well on mine although I think I remember the first time I used it I had to install an older version of Adobe to view the diagrams. Have a look on ebay for the WDS on disc, I think you'll find most of the free to view links will end up back on that WDS. stutart

syemon
I use chrome but some sites only work for properly when using imicrosoft internet explorer. Might be worth trying if you haven't already. JHL

stutart
And as if by magic..... http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/en/ Managed to get this working, however it's absolutely no help what so ever. I'm looking for a wiring diagram - not a doodle that tells me that it's all connected to a control module. Basically, what i want is a drawing... that's laid up in correspondance to the vehicle... The same sort of lay out as this... clickety click What i'd really like to know at the moment, is what colour the door handle trigger is and where it's located !! ( had the door card off and couldn't see shiiittttt !
ian332isport
You won't get anything better. It's basically a copy of the BMW WDS, which is what the dealer uses. All the info is there, you just need to learn how to use it. Ian.
mit
My Bentley manual was full of all sorts of wiring diagrams at the back. There were probably 50 pages of them!
