Mikes Black Coupe

Recommended Posts

After I sold my Ford focus my dream was a BMW e46 coupe. I was spending a lot of hours searching to find the right BMW for me and after a few weeks I found my "dream car".It was a long journey (650miles) but I can still say after 2 years definitely worth it.

2003 BMW e46 black coupe with 68K on the clock.

This is how I bought:

After a couple of weeks searching I bought my "dream" wheels.

I tried the rear on.Difference between X5 and MV2 wheels.

I havent had any spacers so I did a spacers by wood, just to see what size I need.10 & 15mm

+ I bought longer bolts for the wood spacers.

I bought new tyres for the rear as the old was 225/35 on 10j and I didnt like it so I changed it for 245/30.

The fitting was very hard, we did a lot of work on the front but after 18days and many sleepless nights here is the result:

+I bought new black BMW badge

After this we took many pics and enjoyed the car but 1 day (I still dont know why) I sold my "dream" wheels..........

.............and put back my mv2s with epic lows

MV2 without spacers was a bit odd so I bought another set of 20mm spacers and I changed the 255/35 rear tyres to 225/40.

Nice story, worth reading.

The car looks clean, I like it low and without number plate.

Lucky you to find one with low millage.

Cheers Lex.I am happy that you enjoyed my "story" :)

The previous owner was very fussy (like me) ,thats why is the car is in a very good condition.

BMW with a little drop always looks good, especially with a nice wheels. The low mileages was a big bonus, after 2 years with me still under 78K.

I really wish I had a black coupe, with mods they are the best imo, but Im very happy with silver. You car looks great, and I normally don't like X5 wheels on the e46 but you have pulled them off brilliantly ^_^

Thanks Yemi, good to know that you are not an X5 fan but you like my car with X5 wheels.

I always wanted to buy a black BMW but the silver looks good too.I am almost bought a silver e46 but somebody was a lot quicker than me.

Car looks sexy as hell mate

Can I ask tho does your front wheels catch when on full lock whilst driving???

Also how low have u gone??

Cheers

Appreciate the comments dude!

I dont have any problem with the front.I had a little bit of rubbing when I had X5 10j on the front but nothing bad with mv2s.

My car is pretty low at the moment I cant go lower because of the 225/40. I could go lower with 205/40 or 215/35 but its alright for the winter.

That's good to know just lowered mine on eibachs but I don't think it's low enough so I'm looking towards coilovers now but at least I know I can go quite low

Cheers

Coilovers all the way, much better than lowering springs as you can adjust your height all the time.

Can I ask how it handles that low cause my mate reckons it will handle like a pig if I go lower than I have!! What's your verdict??

Cheers

If you use your car every day or you drive in a big city than not the best idea to go for epic lows.

As I said before I dont use my car very often and I drive 70% motorway 25% B road and maybe 5% city driving, but if you have coilover you can adjust your height every day.Sometimes I do twice a week only took 10-15mins.

If I go up to London city center I always raise my car. Def a good idea to buy a coilover as you can play with the height as much as you want.

I have noticed that the name of the shop changed recently.

Have you got any problems with the flood?
