Got my head down and made some good progress today the bet I have on that it will be drivable by Christmas is looking positive.

Had all the trim parts back from the bodyshop so I've put all of those on, just waiting on the bigger panels bonnet, bumpers ect.

Got the seat fitted so I can check things over and work out positions of parts, evryrhing fitted can pritty much stay in for good now. So seat fitted and harness checked for fitment.

Nice one guys !

Simonlpearce - thanks mate, unfortunately the e46 floor pan is much the same they couldn't have made it any more uneven if they tried !! It will be having a flat floor made at some point but hasn't realy been a priority, probably one of the last bits to be made up still pondering the best way to do it. [emoji106]

Quick update for you, Sunday afternoon I manages to get a few hours in, painted the rear panel, all about the little details

20151011_193042.jpg

And striped the M3 rear axle to bits to check every thing out, tidy every thing up replace any bushes or bolts that aren't 100%, all good except 1 lower camber arm bush and handbrake cables. Update you with more as it happens.

Yeah appreciate its not going to be up there on the to do list, plenty of other more important things need sorting first. However when you do get round to it take a look at the below link. Expensive but look cool.

http://www.amspeedracing.co.uk/product-detail?cid=&pid=2023

Alternatively i just made some up on my E36 out of sheet metal cut to size with some grippy tape to stop you slipping about under foot.

Nice one for the link Simon carbon is definitely something to look into think I may make one out of aluminium first and look into carbon once I have an idea of shape and size ect.

Yea that may be my fault scott-o try searching for ell.owen can't remember when I changed it, thank you also [emoji106] .

Little bit of an update, windscreen and rear glass was fitted yesterday morning so some quick pictures for you. Also been working on cleaning up the rear subframe ect so more of that when I get a chance.

I did look into power coating but if I'm honest with you I really can't warrant the cost just for it to look shiney. Hammerite has fantastic protection qualitys and when done right which it has been also looks great not to mention the price difference is huge ! The idea of the build is a very well built car with the main aim on functionality and is by no means in any way a show car. Nice one for the thoughts though as I always say any ideas are welcomed, nice one R11CH [emoji106]

Got a little bit done on the car this week but was mainly the front windows which I have been dreading doing but in the end after quite alot of playing around and head scratching they are now fitted perfectly, very nice fit and with the strengthening plates very secure for pillar less doors.

Continuing to clean up the rear axle parts, looking to get it on the ramp and get the rear subframe fitted and weld In the support plates.

20151021_113314.jpg

And finaly started to get the door cards made up, using some plastic sheet laminated each side with aluminium, very very light and very durable so perfect for the job. More updates in the week.

All the bits are back for paint bar the front bumper which I'm still yet to buy mainly down to beeing tight and beeing mind blown seeing how much people want even for an m sport front bumper, crazy but yea here she is to date, electronics are being started and brake lines to be plumbed in this weekend, the passenger door card is made aswell as the drivers side so just need to have them painted, cut off switch cut into the boot which will be joined by the fire extinguisher bottom when I get it. Everything is for sale at the right price [emoji6] lol, but this is far from where I want it to be. We are in the planning of taking a few cars out to gatbil in 2017 so can't go anywhere before that !!

What you gonna do about the interior handles? Are you gonna be using webbing straps instead?

It is very interesting project

mRd - yes mate the interior door handles will be made up of webbing coupled with modified bowden cables, I'm really not a fan of standard door handles botched into nice carbon or ally door cards, I'm trying to think of some funkey ideas to make the pull handles out of, any ideas would be awesome.

Been a busy few months and not as much time spent in the garage unfortunately but still got some progress done and are looking good for completion early next year. Bit of a write up in what I've been doing then..

 2015-10-31%2016.08.56.jpg

Started off with a trip to the local Bmw dealership to grab some bits to rebuild the read axle, new handbrake cables, bushes, bolts, nuts ect. Got to love BMW's pricing the rip off bastards.

 20151103_204838.jpg

Renewed the rear bushes for good measure, luckily had a brand new bushing kit in work that was aposlutly perfect, nice one Audi.

 20151104_142640.jpg

Rebuilding the arms, everyrhing that can be polyurethane bushed will be.

 20151104_142735.jpg

Some adjustable rear camber arms to get the axle built up.

 20151106_140254.jpg

Calipers had been painted a lovely green so that had to change..

Bit of electrical stuff on the go after that to start getting that side of things on the go to make some good progress. Starting with the body wiring and then will move onto the engine side.

To start, waiting the control panel into a conector so it can be removed if needed.

Power distribution box fitted, actualy off an A1 but is perfect for what I need.

 20151114_153945.jpg

Run a fuse box off the roll cage but quickly didn't like it so I have another idea.

 20151114_153923.jpg

Started wiring the headlights in.

 Snapchat-4300746319175856810.jpg

Okay so the rear m3 axle needs to be put up into place so all the old axle, fuel tank ect needs to be removed, as most of you will know these suffer from the rear floor plans cracking so some plates where ordered and will be welded in over the next few days so we can make some progress on getting all the parts refitted.

Thank you for the comments guys there very much appreciated !. Im hoping to have it done as soon as possible to be honest but there is still quite a bit of money to be invested so that's all that's holing me back to be honest, it's all on track for the early part of this year for its shake down and setup at Pembrey or combe.

Not too much to update but all the rear floor pan strengthening plates are welded in and I have made a good start to undersealing the whole underneath, started with the area under the axle and fuel tank so they can be fitted tomorrow.

M3 Axle is up in place and is pretty much complete bar the diff, driveshafts and fitting the anti roll bar, all fully polly bushed wherever possible. Waiting on some pipes before I can refit the fuel tank.

Need to get my hands on an M3 diff now and then convert the propshaft to suit which will make the running gear complete. Will be looking into upgrading further on top of this but this will do for a start.

All looking clean but those shocks which obviously will not be staying !!.

20160110_204520.jpg

All brakes are not fitted which have been completely rebuild including new seals, retainers, fixings and cosworth pads. Making the brake lines up will be next on the list.
