BMW E46 330d M Sport (2001) Saloon

Recommended Posts

Hi all

First post on here, so go easy!

After owning a 325 and a 330 coupe m sport I've just purchased this...

I read The Judges project thread on his 330 facelift and like him I made the mistake of buying on impulse and whilst I got the car reasonably cheap it's cost me that again on putting things right!

Anyway first up was a quick clean of the c**k pit as it was hanging [emoji90][emoji40]

The rest for the car wasn't much better

It basically needs a deep clean and out and a bit of TLC. Plan is to keep it OEM with a few subtle touches. The first being the front grille which was pretty smashed up after 150k of miles

When I got the car it had two keys and both batteries were dead so no remote function. Sent off the newer looking one to get a new battery fitted for £23. Arrived this morning and after a quick programme I have remote central locking again [emoji4]

Can you let me know how you get on with those mat clips as my car came with the clips fitted but dont stay in place and i dont think i've got the flat washer style piece with my clips so im a bit miffed with how they work/fit

I'm glad you said that cause I'm not sure how the washers are supposed to keep them in place either! Will let you know

Brilliant mate cheers

As X-Man said the washer goes between the floor and the underside of the mat. The washer clicks over the lip of the clip and you can then just turn until it's locked. It's a bit fiddly and I can see why manufacturers changed to Velcro! I can also see why over time the clips get broken... People get fed up and just pull out the mat with force and break the clips and subsequently rip the underside of the mat as has happened with mine! That's said you'd never know and they're all locked in place now

Just got another delivery...

Don't intend on shampooing the boot mat again especially as it's grey and shows up everything. Bought this for £20

I thought the boot mat was reversible. Mine flips over and it's rubber on the other side.

Couldn't resist another cheeky shot from outside - car really lights up now!

These lights look great. Is it a case of just swapping the bulbs over?

The car had a private plate on when I got it and whilst it's easy to remember I'd rather the old plate for an OEM look if nothing else!

The black plastic front bumpers inserts/mouldings have seen better days so I've ordered some new ones

The side mouldings are still in transit. I just hope they match when they arrive as they're from different sellers.

Quite surprised how easy it was to change plate over. Last time I did it I had to drive to local DVLA office but a couple of clicks online and I had confirmation old plate could be put back on - caught me off guard as I hadn't ordered new plates or inserts at that point!

Should be fitted at the weekend.
