Not as easy as i thought as that unibond extreme does not have much of a instant stick about it....its ones of those glues that you need to brace the part for it to work 100%. I used sellotape which was not bad....then after a while i tried clothes pegs which seem like they were made for the job...i used sellotape for the areas the pegs wouldnt go. singh41 Posted July 28, 2013 Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 Went into halfords yesterday but they were out of the unibond extreme repair stuff, so i went for the evostick repair stuff. Used loads of gaffer tape to help the glue dry overnight. Seems to have done the job, time will tell for how long it stays. The tape did leave a residue but rolling up the tape (that was taken off after the glue dried) into a ball with the sticky side out and rolling it over the residue got most of the sticky residue off, the rest came off with a bit of polish. Smellynelly Posted August 18, 2013 Report Share Posted August 18, 2013 I can report back that the easy way to do it is defo with clothes pegs.....just put a decent bead of the unibond onto the rubber...run your fingers along the rubber to spread the bead then peg it and leave for a few hours. And the most effective way to hold it in place to bond is with gaffer tape as illustrated, clothes pegs arn't nearly as strong. I've just used some 3M double sided tape on mine, and its seemed to have worked a treat, sits nicely in the grove on the trim and stuck instantly.
