Coupe Sagging Door Seal Fix

Recommended Posts

I glued mine last summer but it comes off again and from visual aspect it looks like glued, not pleased really so I will get two new ones

Use the proper glue and do a neat job and you won't tell it's been glued. Take lube to the Stealers with you if you're ordering two new seals, you'll sure need it :D

I used proper glue from 3M, problem is that rubber is already worn and they need replacing

Hi All,

With the hot weather recently, my coupe's window seals (with the alcantara lining) in the door frame on both the passenger and driver's side have begin to peel away and are "flopping" as the sealant/adhesive used is no longer effective.

I would like to re-seal these properly. Has anybody had this problem in the past? If so what is the best type of recommended sealant/adhesive to use?

Your help would be appreciated.

Bhav

Thinking it may be best to take it off all the way round and re stick it.

It's about 18" worth that's dropped but I don't want to have to do it in a different area later.

May also take the seal in the house to make life easier.

To those who have used unibond extreme.. There doesn't seem to be much "grab" with this glue? Just did mine and taped into place.. Hopefully it will set after 24hours, but it doesn't seem "sticky" at all?

Thanks

I did mine yesterday with unibond extreme and your right when u apply it there isn't must grab!

Taped it for a few hours and then took tape off and it was sticking fine and then checked it again 2day and it's stuck firm now

Well, my passenger side trim in this intense heat has now sagged again after using the unibond extreme.

The drivers side is down too but i still have this to do.

I will now redo both sides with CT1 clear sealant or HB4 sealant that i use at work.

Maybe i did not create enough tension with the pegs when i fixed it.
