TriggerFish
Hi all, My 330d has finally given up the ghost after just over 250,00 miles. The engine ran, but something was seriously up with the injection system/one or more of the injectors, and it became undrivable, so now it's being broken for parts. I've not made a huge amount of progress into stripping it down, but if anyone wants anything I'll make an effort to get it removed. Some parts I'm keeping for my new 330d as spares, but otherwise any little part is available. I hate buying from breakers usually (blurry photos, crap descriptions, removed without care), so rest assured my parts won't be like that. I'll provide detailed photos and highlight any defects before selling. All parts located near Aylesbury, Bucks. I can happily facilitate collection, can take to work in Oxford (OX3), or post most items. About the car 2002 facelift titan silver 330d Sport manual saloon with the earlier 184bhp engine. There's not much interesting spec wise left over, as it's mostly being transplanted onto my new car. I'll add some of the more interesting, removed items below, but will keep adding to this... Bi-xenons (sold - will update if it falls through) Sport front/rear bumpers + side skirts - £320 collected - fog lights and surrounds (at least one surround had to be glued on years ago, IIRC), lower front grill, number plate plinth (sans numberplate!), side mouldings included. Brake air ducts will be included - there might be some damage to one, but I can't recall off hand. Rear bumper will come with all mouldings, but no reversing sensors (they didn't work anyway). The lower exhaust cutout is for a twin pipe, and has been left off as it will make fitting the bumper much easier. There is cosmetic damage to the bumpers/sills, please see the photos. It will all benefit from a clean, but I have nothing with which to do so down there, and it won't fit in my e30 to bring it back home... Driver's sill - no damage: Passenger's sill - some damage from driving into a curb. Only visible from below though - not when standing next to the car. (I had to use my phone here as the lens on my SLR was too tight to focus in the limited space) Rear bumper - two main scuffs on each corner - one from a crash barrier in Norway - the other from a red car - but not, she claims, my sister's MINI, despite her bumper being damaged in the same place/height, and being red, and the damage appearing the day after she parked really badly next to me... Hmmmm. Front bumper - this is a bit of a mess in places - the cost of being low and crashing into curbs! I've shown all of the damage, but also tried to show it from a regular view point, rather than looking up at the bumper from beneath. In this situation, the appearance of the damage is much reduced, and would likely be hidden by a set of splitters if you wanted to go that route... This fog light is cracked. I tinted it yellow to try to hide this. The tint has since gone bad - I have more film to apply if wanted. Damage on the passenger corner from when an Audi (it would be an Audi, wouldn't it?) straight lined a roundabout and crashed into me (before driving off without stopping, of course - they do seem to deserve their bad rep. *Heads back into glass house*) Scuff on the driver's front. I think I drove it into a wall, maybe? General lowness scuffs (not noticeable once fitted) complete with weird red paint transfer I've only just noticed and can't figure out. 330d 184bhp manual remapped ECU, lock set, and EWS - £180 + £5 postage. This was remapped by BW Chiptune a couple of years ago. Gains can be seen below. Please keep in mind the age of the car (200,000+ miles when mapped). The ECU performed fine. The ECU will need the EWS (immobiliser) swapping to run. The EWS will need the correct transponder in the keys to work, so two genuine BMW remote keys are included, along with the driver's door lock, black glove box lid, boot lock and ignition barrel (the last three are still on the car). ECU: Dyno run: BMW Business CD Radio ** SOLD ** - This is the the one to have if you don't want an aftermarket or double DIN unit - aux in enabled, without losing the CD changer (cable included), MP3 CD playback, and best of all, modded for RCA pre-outs. These work with the volume control/fader etc. Both RCA and regular speaker outputs are active at the same time. 330d inlet manifold without swirl flaps £95 + £10 postage - being a 184 manual, this car didn't have swirl flaps. EGR is included (I had it unplugged, don't know if it still works or not...), as is the MAP sensor (works fine). Any gaskets/fixings included are 'extras' and shouldn't be considered in reusable condition (250,000 mile old gaskets? Do you want to chance it?) I think this fits 204 engines too, but please check first. 330d dash cluster - £30 + £5 postage - nothing interesting, just a good condition dash unit. Currently showing 250,096 miles, but can be changed with PA soft. Red needles, although the pen is starting to fade on the temp. gauge (which was modified using PA Soft to only sit upright between 85-95c, rather than the factory 70ish - 115ishc.) Climate control unit - nothing interesting. Plug and play (ish) upgrade for cars with manual air/con, or a replacement for a damaged unit. Some scuffs to the top of the unit from previous radio installations. Coded for automatic rear window/mirror defrosting below 3c. LCM - with autolights faceplate £20 posted - currently coded for DRLs, bi-xenons with flash-to-pass and US sidemarkers as well as quad rear brake lights and twin rear fogs (with suitable bulb holder). Will need coding to your car to prevent the tamper dot. NEW PARTS ADDED 12th November Sport headlining and trims - £70, collection from HP18 only All parts as photo'd, but in detail: saloon black/sport head lining, a-pillar trims with airbag inserts, upper/lower b-pillar trims, c-pillar trims (without lights), 3rd brake light cover, 4 grab handles, 2 sun visors + vanity lights + sun visor retainers, alarm sensor box (not the one photo'd, but the unmodified one from my car). All parts are in great condition, apart from the passenger sun visor which has wiring damage (shown) and some scuff marks on the lower edges on the lower b-pillar trim (shown). Apart from this, it's in very good, clean, non-smoked in condition. (Soon to be available: all black dashboard (£10) and black carpets (£40)). I was dreading this job, but it only took 2 hours of leisurely work (mostly spent cursing the fact I'd forgotten a light, and losing my tools) to remove the interior, door cards, most of the dash, the carpet and all the head lining stuff. It's easier with the seats out of the car, but not the horrific job I was dreading (in case anyone is tempted, but put off by the work needed. I'd set aside an afternoon and you should be able to swap the old/new). As new cup holder and coin holder £*SOLD* Literally as new, as can be seen in the photos. This was in my new car, but I prefer my roller tray, so this is spare now. No scuffs or marks anywhere. I'm not sure how old it is, but it looks pretty recent. M-Sport steering wheel + airbag: £115 + £5 postage. (Not sure if the e46 had different sizes, but this one is 370mm.)
