Steviejay
are m3 engine conversions possible on the e46 coupes? id rather like 1, I missed out on an E46 With an M engine a few years ago, in red, all race prepped......awesome machine. Had custom exhaust, Remap, Induction, and other internal stuff, absolute rocket ship! Was 12k if I remember right.
Raz
ohhh THAT badge! I thought you meant the roundel and voted 'No' On the subject of 318's, are they not the most a 4 pot can deliver? torquey and responsive, a mini m3 imo would much rather have a 4 pot 318 than a six pot 320 (but I accept nothing beats the sound of a 6 potta) (Flame suit adorned)

Apart from the M3 obviously Is the 320 E46 not a 2.2 though? Never driven or been in one so dont know
The Diddler
When i bought mine it was already de-badged, checked options list with BMW and first owner had requested removal of badge when it was new. The problem i have got is do i put in on again, maybe when people see its got no badge then check out the exhaust pipes and realise its a diesel they might think thats why no badge, to try and hide the fact that its diesel. Personally i would keep the badge, i would quite like people to know theres a nice straight six 3 litre diesel under my bonnet, especially when i get it remapped!! BMStyling
I like Debadged, as S2Dicky demonstrates, it looks sooooo clean without the badges. However, If you have the M it is a little bit harder to remove as thats what you have paid for and is a defining feature! lol

BMStyling
Removed all the badges on my E36 and door handels apart from the bonnet badge! Even lost the rear handle and lock, loved it!
CNL Remapping
All i can say is definately de-badge, when i looked around my car at the BMW garage, it only had the 330 badge & not 330CD so it looked really stupid, so asked them to take em off. I no how quick my car is, if people want to have a play then all be it i'm up for it!!

Phantom Mark
I have to say, I like to leave my 320d badge on mine, its all the more fun when you go hammering past nice cars on track

Why hide it ? Be proud of the fact you got one of the best lumps ever made, and enough power to blow even the nicer petrols off the road, the 330D badge is to be feared if you have half a clue, for those that have no clue will soon learn or pay the price
///Marty
My 330d was badged, as is my 330ci. I did have the 530d debadged as it looked too big on the back IMHO. I have seen one fellow clubsport owner remove the 'i' from the Ci and add an 's' to make the badge read (for those who can't imagine already ) 330cs That would be me then! I also bought another set of badges to put on my csl lid but as yet i've not bothered putting them on. Bit torn to be honest, as other members have said it's nice to let people know what your packin but then again also have to agree with dicky and say it really does clean up the rear end a treat. vikz
Always debadged my cars in the past as i like the smooth finish but its kinda been decided for me this time as previous owner debadged it and stuck the M in its place. Am thinking of taking that off and just making it smooth and plain-just hope it comes off easy enough lol! Hairdryers have many uses lol!
PhoenixSteve
I've asked for mine to be de-badged when i pick it up on Saturday, not because its a 318ci but i because i prefer the cleaner lines & it stops the little scrotes around my way doing it with a screwdriver LOL
Jamee
Well i have just ordered my 330ci badge from BMW, as i think the rear end looks nice with it, Marty, want to sell me an 's'???? Be nice if you could get smaller geniune badges.

Del 2 El
The usual Forum question To de-badge the bootlid or not. What are your thoughts? Bry De-badged mine, looks much better.
Gaz
I say put a 318 badge on it. Wait for a 323 to pull up next to you revving his engine, then p**s all over his parade! Guy in my mini forum has got a 2litre vtec conversion done to his, and has a 998cc badge on the back Oh the looks he gets when pulling up next to a beema or merc only to leave the other car in his dust
Stan 24v
This'll probably put a cat amongst the pigeons - anyone got a BLACK model badge, like the ones on Ebay? Interested to see what they look like on a car!!

Bry.F
Funny this post has popped up again after so long. I finally debadged the car last week in the hot weather. I was bored at work and the hot sun on the back of the car made the badges really easy to remove, then it was a simple clean up with some tar remover a rub with the autoglym paint renovater and a final polish with the super resin. KSG
De-badge all the way. I only have a 318ci, so you would expect it to be de-badged. But even if I had an m3, it would be smoothed. I think the vents, exhausts and bonnet should give away what it is That's just my personal choice, being a fan of the 'cleaned' euro look.
