Apparently it is better for vehicles that cannot display track info and what not. champ222 Posted April 26, 2010 Report Share Posted April 26, 2010 the BMW business CD player will display the text just fine. so go with the regular 100. i use the gateway 300 which adds the USB input too, i see the lite does usb, but doesnt do text. i have used the 100 and the 300, and they both display text, although the 100 took a bit of fiddling to get the text to appear on the display. you have to play a config file on the ipod to choose where the text goes, so you wil have to choose radio for the text display. the info is on the website i think, but it still took me a few goes to get it to work. the 300 that i use in my car worked straight out of the box. ive been running it since september maybe... never had a single problem with it... never crashed, never had to reset it, like you have to do with those dice things. its been great. once you understand how it works, its pretty damn good. there is (or was when i bought mine) a '300 v2' and a '100' and i kind of got the impression that the 300v2 is a newer version of software than the 100 i played with. it seemed more solid somehow, and i certainly have no compaints. maybe the newer 100s are the same as the 300 v2, or i might have imagined the whole thing. the usb is quite handy too, so maybe go for the 300 if you can justify the extra cash. check your business cd player has a MODE button, rather than a CD button. If its the old blaupunkt one with the CD button, you will probably have problems with ANY ipod adapter of this type and might want to consider an upgrade to a new version. hope that helps.
