Johnny 5C
My glove box damper was broken, and stopped the glove box closing without first lining up the damper with the hole. The plastic tangs that hold it in place were broken off, but it can be strapped in place with a large cable tie. Remove the glove box and open fully. Take out the torch for ease of access. Pull up the damper to its full extent with the glove box open all the way. Slot the damper through the hole and slide to the right, putting one pair of tangs above and one below the glove box assembly, it will sit nicely, but wont stay in place on its own with broken tangs. Feed the cable tie through the hole on the left, around the piston body, and back through the hole. Make sure the "head" of the cable tie is bigger than the hole. There is clearance in the glove box cavity for this to fit when you put it back in the car. Strap tight, cut off excess cable tie and you're done. 10 minutes and good as new. Sorry for the bad quality photos. My camera didn't want to take a macro shot. John
