E36 Daz
You may have seen my other thread 'DAB into E46'.....well here is the solution to anyone wanting to fit a DAB tuner into their vehicle but don't want to have to go to the trouble of fitting an external aerial or drilling a hole in the roof etc. What you see here is a DAB aerial that is meant to go on the roof or wall of your house and connect to your home hifi I have fitted it to my back panel with 2 cable ties and it even came with 10 metres of co-ax cable. This is hidden when the bumper is refitted. I simply connected the co-ax to my existing DAB aerial lead with a soldered joint. The result is near perfect reception,I can get a signal in places I never could before + I have extra stations too. And the best bit,it cost £9.99 off Ebay. So,don't waste your money on expensive sharkfins or crappy screen mounts, this is the way to go for good DAB reception for a budget price mit
mitesh33
Hi, Just found this dab post, I'm thinking of a similar idea. I have a e46 and its a nightmare getting good antenna which you can't see, is this antenna powered/amplified in anyway? Or is it wire straight from the dab head unit into the antenna. Is the recepti
E36 Daz
No straight from the head unit. What I would say is the reception you get will depend entirely on your location. My reception is massively improved on the screen antenna I had in my previous car BUT it does vary with the terrian. There are some times when I get no reception at all. Don't expect it to be as good as an original fitment but it is better than many aftermarket options. It would be even better if you could mount it vertically but obviously that isn't an option
