Bilstein B4 Vs M Tech Struts?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am in need of a new front strut. I have got Eibach springs to go on the car as I also know that one of my springs has cracked. The reason I went for Eibachs over anything else is that I have heard they lower the car slightly but keep near enough all the comfort of the standard sport springs which is what I want. I have already had the stiff low suspension on other cars and just want a good handling, comfy car.

I am looking at 2 new front shocks to put on as one is knackered. The Bilsteins come out almost £50 cheaper than the M Tech shocks.

My question is are they a lot stiffer than standard? or are they almost the same so I wont be able to tell much difference?

If I go for Bilsteins I will of course get the rears to match asap.

cheers

Nick

Do some research on this. There is an uprated shock/spring arrangement that is rated a lot more highly than the std m sport stuff. BUt I Cant remember it and cant find the link!

The M SPort suspension is not known for its comfort, so you must have had some harsh rides in the past! :D

I have had a look around but will do some more research.

I had a corsa c with lowering springs which bounced around everywhere and the gf has a mini cooper s which is rock hard.

Does anyone else know where this thread is?

Cheers for the info Matt,

I have taken a look at the Koni review, they look good but just too expensive for me.

I have the Eibach Pro-Kit, bought these ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320815112815?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

anyone else used the bilstein's?
