Vanos DIY repair

Recommended Posts

Hi all I'm new to this forum, I recently purchased a 2004 mystic blue 330ci and despite needing some work I love it more than any other car I have owned. One of the things that needed doing was the vanos seals as the car had a surge of power come in around 3500rpm and was a bit boggy and jerky below that range with some annoying throttle lag. After following the 50s kid guide on YouTube, I now have a fully functioning vanos system and the car is even more of a pleasure to drive. Its a real jekyll and hyde car now as the restored low down torque means you can drive in a very lazy way. It has also fixed the laggy throttle response. I would highly recommend anyone do this job on their cars if it hasn't been done already.
