  1. Cheers Steve,

I drove it back from your place today and could not stop smiling all the way. I am totally privelaged to now own the car that you have spent a fortune on! Immaculate is an understatement as is the performance in 'Sport' mode :)

    I won't be doing anything to it for a while......................well maybe a little :)

I'll stay in touch mate, thanks again!

  2. Thanks for the replies.

204bhp is what I was aiming at Rich and now you have pretty much 'swayed' that decision making it easier to find what I need!

Cheers Bob, seats are easy to swap I agree but just needed to know that the wiring loom was in :)

Will - I'm in Shrewsbury so if you are selling then drop me a line & I can take a look............if I were you though I wouldn't sell it if you really don't want to :)

  3. Hi all,

'It' happened! High pressure fuel pump failure and a dual mass with clutch at the same time! Car is currently awaiting the attention of my oldest son to make good again over the next few weeks. I think I'll let him keep it and introduce him to the 'gang'.

However, I need a car and am happy to stay with an E46, my 320d was re-mapped to 175bhp and was fantastic so rather doing that again I'm searching for a 330d.

I need honest opinions towards 5 or 6 speed manual versus Automatic and everything that comes in the auto range including semi-auto etc. I currently don't know enough about the reliability etc.

There's about 10 nationally I'm looking at with all different combo's, not arsed about interior stuff as I'll drop in the latest Dynavin and other ancillaries. If anyone who owns one with manually adjusted seats has the time to do so, I'd be grateful for feedback on whether I can take them out and put in electric memory seats?

Likewise, if you have a 330d and want cash for it then drop me a line.

    Cheers

  4. Mutts nuts!

I've been looking at these for a while and will get something soon. Will it flip down at speed? i.e. you might be traveling faster than the national speed limit in the vicinity of a money making scheme :o ?

Have a gander at these - 'Ghost plates' - expensive but........ www.ghostplate.com

I'm interested in the ghostplate 1.0 version

  5. Hi all,

Been off here for ever! Sorry, the dye is immaculate and to be honest a bizzare few things happened all at once. I re-fitted the leather and kept it in for about 3 months, all good with no worries, then I saw a complete Red set on E Bay and bought it! 2 interiors and 1 car :) I took the Cinnamon redye out again and put the red in purely to get it out of my system, the Cinammon is still in plastic bags in the attic for the next time I get bored. A change of job has meant less time to mess around with the car but having said that I'm just about to completely fit Polyurethane bushes to rear and I mean everywhere. Bought from Poland, company called Strongflex and they look immaculate out of the box. I have fitted Powerflex on the front and apart from being cheaper, these are spot on.

Pictures wise? Where have they gone? I'll get some back on again.

  6. By the way, anyone else with a 320D M47 engine managed to fit the newer style Crankcase oil breather? I'm still changing mine on every oil service but would like to know if the newer ones are possible?

    Cheers

  7. Hi all,

As promised I have managed to purchase an M Sport steering wheel and then had it re-trimmed for £105 (Plus P&P) by Jack. Nappa top & bottom with perforated sides, feels 'lush'! Fitting it was simple and straight forward. I recovered the bottom trim myself to match the existing interior trim as the black didn't look good. Also the scratch on the trim when I bought it looks better in Silver

  8. Bizzarely my brother-in-law now runs with a load of ex and still serving in the Armed Forces Scooter Club! They go to all sorts of meets and basically get leathered and show their scooters. Having just completed 28 years service i'm mainly interested in just getting leathered! Best wishes to all still in, stay safe and stag on

  9. Totally agree mate, in another thread there was a comment about Chinese products 'not normally found in BMW's', made by an individual who in my opinion beleives that all BMW owners and there vehicles are somehow superior to others in society. i.e stuck up his own arse and not in the real world.

  10. I think with postage it came to 90 dollars for 10 yard roll x 15 inches. I took the trim off with a knife wrapped with a piece of cloth and didn't break a thing. Good clean with hot water and washing up liquid. Small bits i.e.door trim was easy but the number plate and large strip on the rear wasn't so funny. Saying that though it's that easy I'd be happy to refresh it every 6 months if required. It honestly looks mint, i'll put more photos on when the weather sorts itself out.

  11. Hi all,

Been busy doing the odd thing here and there to the car inbetween work and other stuff!

Managed to get a set of staggered MV2's from E Bay for £500 in immaculate condition, rears fitted with Pirrelli P Zero Rosso and fronts have Hankooks, all tyres have loads of tread. Fitted those on Friday. Sat on Eibach Pro springs (thanks to Keith again for that epic thread) with re-painted calipers and Goodridge lines all round.

The week before I covered the black saloon exterior trim in a Titanium Silver vinyl that I bought from the States, all exterior black is now colour coded. Easy to do, lots of swearing because I was trying to rush it but the results are great. Respray costs did not justify the desire and so for a fraction of the price I did it myself.

Powerflex bushes to front trailing arms and anti roll bar was easy but still took a while. Best option is get two spare bush frames and make them up before getting the old ones off.

Summer last year I dyed the black leather interior with a Cinnamon dye. That interior is now out and in the attic for the summer whilst I drive around in a recently aquired Red leather interior, just because I can really.

Dynavin is spot on, I realise after reading some comments on here that 'purist's' may deem Chinese I.C.E as sub standard, yet Chinese tyres are ok? Anyway, it's the mutts nuts and each to their own.

Changed the boot gas struts as the others were wearing. 5 minute job.

For a 10 year old car, it's just short of 80k and looks better than ever.

Next up is to refurb the engine bay and replace nuts and bolts that are rusting from the salt/age. M Tech steering wheel with 'bespoke' covering and then go fishing!

More photos to follow once it stops raining.

  12. Hi,

There is a market for the cheap Chinese made electronics and it 'usually' isn't found in BMW's.

    Cheers, Dennis!

Just read this, have a word mate, take your head out of your arse!

Are you suggesting that there is a certain type of driver that sits in a BMW? Blue eyed, Blonde Hair, 6ft tall with a Germanic accent? Ergo no other parts other than that of BMW should be placed in such a vehicle?

    Jog on

  13. Hello again,

I would honestly get a Dynavin and follow the install notes on various forums, really easy fit and looks good too. You will need the relocation stuff too but it's not much. Well worth it for those long drives home for the ferry or tunnel
