If they didn't fix it I'd have done it myself anyway. It's just nice they have as its a new floor, brake lines, brake fluid and its warranted for 3 years too which will give the next owner peace of mind if I sell it. The thread asks for peoples success stories, so I posted it. If you don't like the way I got it fixed its not my issue and it doesn't make me a "knob". Just coming on here and showing off that your special contact sorted you out makes you look like a knob. Nobody said you are actually a knob. Just that the way you post makes you look like one. Kind of like if you went up to some parents whose son had just died and waved a photo of your kid in their face saying "check out my kid, isn't he so amazing?" Failing to realise that and saying you couldn't care less actually does make you a knob though. To be fair you did come across as a knob, saying "99 and repaired for free" is hardly help or constructive towards any part of this thread, go buy a pint and tell the chap sat next to you, I'm sure he'll be interested. I got a free paint repair because I know the owner of Apollo Motorgroup but it hardly gives me the need to fap one out on a forum like yourself. End of, I can't get it done for other people unfortunately, if I could I would. You can think i'm a knob all you like, but it really doesn't bother me. Rear subframe (rear left) was cracked last MOT but the tester didnt see it so i didnt mention it. Drove it for about 7000 miles and it totally ripped right through. My old pal was a long term BMW tech and has his own place ....... he knew exactly what needed to be done (i knew what was involved through a little research on the net so i tested him!) and it cost £480. Have to say the car does feel a lot tighter and i'm glad i made a further investment in the 80k miler. cdodds2004 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Share Posted July 1, 2012 yea thats what im thinking mate,, what sort of price do people pay for this? i watched the redish video in youtube and they look like they do a proper job sealing it all up after, its hard to find garages local to me to trust, i am booked in with autotech performance in telford, for rear brake pipe and trailing arm bush replacement, so i am going to ask if he can look at the subframes and maybe do the work but not sure if he does this repair or not! im sure he does as he seems like a real clever bloke! and whilst he has the fuel tank of to do break pipes and trailing arm bushes seems like the perfect time to get it looked at i think!?
