jayla
Yeah alpine already do a seperate screen and brains unit which gets round the heater cutting. Last time i checked though the user interface loooked like an old atari which is a shame cos their stuff sounds amazing. I took my atari console out of the loft while cleaning up. now all i need to find is the power supply

mit
Sweet! That price is pretty reasonable I'd say, given the cost of the double-din fascia and a standard double-din unit...

///Marty
Good man, 'R&D'?? will be keeping an eye on this thread mate, let us know what you think and pictures fitted if you will Research and Development mate. I also think £630 is pretty reasonable when you do the comparisons. OEM stuff is gonna be at least a grand and then you have to do the retro fit which is a ball ache - trust me, i'm redoing the wiring loom in mine as we speak. Double din you are looking at spending £400-1k on a HU, £140 on bezel, all the adaptors to go with it, then you've either gotta cut the heater box yourself or pay someone to do it which will cost $$$. Get some pics up once you've got it in mate, could be a trend setter right there. !

///Marty
Glad you're nearly there mate Cheers bud. Made up the additional wiring loom tonight, got the cluster out and ran the wires roughly into position. I'm hoping to find some daylight hours tomorrow to see if it all works! ///Marty
You are looking about a grand for all the bits, and then a day or so to fit it all. there was a set in the for sale section earlier this week but it looked a bit suspect to me... way too cheap. Daz 330 Cs
Yes i did see the clicky , was £400 wasnt it ? And take plenty of mates if you're going to look at it Hmm a Grand is way cheaper than what it costs from new , ( nearer 2k IIRC )

Gaygle
Watching this thread very carefully! The nav unit in the OP seems to be perfect but i am interested in what the software/GPS is like. Am i right in saying that, to use the Sat Nav, nothing else is needed? No aerial? No nav computer?
