Headunit Wiring Diagram

This might explaine it clearer, its what i posted on an old thread a while ago.

The cable for the +12v supply is already in place, as the factory head unit connects to it.

I think the colour cable is white, pin 16, see notes below.

You would need to connect this to a +12v supply on the new headunit. I used the automatic ariel lead which i think is usually the blue lead.

By doing this it also means that when u turn off the stereo the amp is no longer powered, so u wont drain the battery when not using the stereo.

You could connect it to a +12v switched ignition feed from the stereo wiring loom also.

Radio Connector --

1 - yellow/red - left front +

2 - blue red - right front +

3 - yellow/black - left rear +

4 - black (not used)

5 - violet/white 12 volt switched (HU power line)

6 - blue/black - right rear +

7 - white / red - Not Used

8 - brown/orange - left front -

9 - red/green positive terminal battery connection

10 - white Not Used

11 - brown/orange - right front -

13 - grey/red illumination

Pin 5 is ignition switched line, ie only 12v when ignition is switched on.

Pin 9 is permanent 12v supply.

pin 16 is remote 12v feed out, this gives 12v out from stereo when it is switched on, ie for amp or powered arial
