Maxus
Welcome along, I do like Estoril blue. Looks great. And the S8 is cool. Very Transporter. Try these guys for the gear knob, I got my replacement from them. The genuine 6spd M knob is c£17 + vat from memory http://www.bmminiparts.com/
AmarB
Thanks for your comments, I am defiently getting the S8 repaired. Hoping for an RS 6 engine as that remapped launches an RS6 from 0-60 in 3.6 secs, see here and the S8 is lighter then an RS6! I just had a look on that site, thanks for that. I have a feeling I am going to be using it a lot! Can you send me the link to the M gearnob for £17. I might as well order it now as I have my debit card out lol but I can only see them for £50+ on the website you posted.
n1k_ns
Looks good mate , how much did PMW charge for de flapping you?
Daz 330 Cs
You reckon wrong on that one, at least in the dry. Top gear did a drag test between the M3 and the S4, and the M3 whipped its butt. In the wet, it might be a different situation though In the straight line drag , there was only a car length in it , throw in a few bends & in the real world ...different outcome
AmarB
Sorry, I meant in the dry, and that's from personal experience with my 335D and the S8 in the wet. I think they charged £150. I would have done it myself but as my car is an 04 I would have had to take the manifold off on Saturday to see which type it was (Earliest time I could due to work) then order it on Monday and it wouldn't have arrived till Tuesday, this way I just got it out the way with and knew the job was done properly. Here is the page I got mine from http://www.bmminiparts.com/DiagramView.asp...&MOSP=47605 When I bought mine (part 6) it had a price on this screen. I thought it was a good deal! Especially as I sold my old one for not much less. Suggest asking for a price.
AmarB
Thanks for the link, I will get one on order as its the only thing letting the car down. I had the interior detailed and it looks, feels and smells completely different now. I ordered new tyres today it didn't really need them but the ones on at the minute are a really crappy make and I just don't think its worth skimping on tyres. But I have since remembered my car has tyre pressure monitoring. Do I need to do anything special because of sensors? Also I have decided to get it remapped by CNL next month now that I have the vortex breather/de flap mod/BMW service/PMW health check and new tyres out the way! Then I may get a 330 petrol style exhaust tip as I don't like the look of mine. Any other suggestions then please do let me know but I am trying not to get silly with modding like I did with the S8 which was all OEM. Another question, I need new front brake pads. Should I get them from BMW or can someone recommend another type? I want to fit them myself on the weekend

AmarB
A little update for those who are interested. I swiftly sold the Bimmer on as a dream spec A8 (I'm a sucker for luxo barges) came up for sale with lots of toys, a full S8 config including engine and more importantly an LPG conversion. It had all sorts like reclining rear seats, Audi 10 disc DVD changer, Bi Xenons, Reversing camera and a solar panel on the roof that keeps the air con running in the summer so you don't get into a toasty car and burn yourself on the leather. Pretty much as soon as I drove that car home I knew I'd made a mistake. The BMW had spoilt me with the way it drove, the steering felt connected and even though it was only a 2.0 d it still made me smile more then this 360 BHP V8 Audi. Not only that, even with LPG it wasnt cheap on fuel. Just cheaper. I tried buying my old BMW back from the new owner (offering him more then he paid me) but he wouldn't sell. All of a sudden I got a text months later saying he will be selling in June, I told him I wanted it and swiftly got rid of the barge. So now I need a stop gap car to drive about in until I can by my old coupe back. Whilst all that was going on somewhere in between. Some bas&£rds went to the Audi independent that was doing the engine work on my S8 and stole the car, gutted isn't the word. I'm still over the moon about getting my old BMW back. So it balances out, kinda... Anyway, gist of it is I'm back and this time for good hopefully. I've seen the light c
