sebgreen
Hey , Want to replace my belts and tensioners as getting a bit noisy..... There are two, one for aircon belt (left side) and one on other ancillary belt (right side). Are they both the same tensioner? As on ECP I can not tell which is which. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Matt_S
Realoem shows them to be different. http://www.realoem.c...615&hg=11&fg=18 One thing you could do is to run the car without the AC belt on, this would eliminate the AC tensioner pulley Edited May 25, 2012 by Matt_S
PeterH
Before you buy, make sure you check and see if you have the hydraulic or mechanical tensioner. There are two types Matt_S

Matt_S
I was just hoping they put a chair behind him before he hit the floor with a thud! SHouldnt be a bad job to do. Belt replacement is easy enough, so technically your just removing the belts and replacing a pulley

sebgreen
Did this job today. Both tensioners replaced. Aux belt was hydralic and the piston was ok so just replaced the pulley wheel, mudguard and bolt. Replaced the Idler pulley also as it had no resistance when span and was loud. Replaced entire mechanical A/C belt tensioner. Both belts. Easy job - took half an hour, if that.
