Collinite 476S

Recommended Posts

Just bought some as I've nearly finished my HD wax and wanted to try this for a while.. Wanted to ask what's the best way to use it, as I've read some reviews that state you should apply it to a panel at a time and then remove it before the next panel... I normally do the whole car and then remove it.. But apparently 476s gets harder to remove if left on a while! (the A6 is a big ass car) Also is it best to use a damp sponge like the HD wax?

Cheers... :)

I done mine 2 weeks ago with collinite 476, mine came with sponge applicator and microfiber cloth, I did maybe 2 panels at a time with a lightly damp sponge then buffed with the microfiber, its not too hard to buff if left on too long so I wouldnt worry to much, test a small area first to get a rough idea. Great stuff, I gave mine 2 coats.

I use 915 on mine, I assume it's similar (?) Damp aplicator pad, thin smear, leave for 30 mins buff with microfiber. Give it another thin coat after for longer lasting results.

I use a foam applicator, do one section/panel at a time, thin layer, allow to dry and buff off with a microfibre, repeat if you want to double coat as a prep for winter for example

Can be harder to remove if you let it bake on in the sun, but it's not too bad normally

It's be very dependent on temperature mate.

Do a panel and keep your eye on it. You really dont want this stuff drying hard. The only way you can really buff it off once it's set is to add another layer over the top then buff that back.

It does last for ages and gives a nice shine. Wouldnt really bother putting it over anything though, it's very chemically and will "probably" remove anything else like SRP or Glazes

Well I done it last week when there was a break in the weather... I done a couple of panels at a time, it was quite hot so got quite hard.. Think I'll do a panel at a time next! And do it nearer evening time.. (when the sun is away) Less is definitely more!

Aly, is not recommend doing it in fading light mate.

If you miss bits, and you probably will, you won't be able to see them. I did exactly that when I used it.

I leave the colli for my wheels now and use Megs #26 on the body.

It's best to to use warm water on the applicator to soften the wax then do 2 light coats. If your getting a load of wax thats hard to get off your putting to much on and wasting it. Thin coats wipe of easily.
