Had a couple of glitches with it but I also have 2 android phones and a tablet which are also not free from glitches from time to time. The android side of the system is what I use most for music, video and sat nav. Tether to it from a phone and it opens up loads if options. Both were the first of each kind to be sold to the public and I am a very happy customer still. I love the unit and wouldnt be in an e46 without one now. I've tried using poweramp player, but the android side doesn't pick up any of the USB (back or front) or any of the SD cards. Would be great if someone can help. Mine is the E46 version. Ive had a couple of problems but Phil has been quick to sort them out for me and overall am quite happy with it although i think to get on with this head unit you really do need to enjoy playing around with things its not your bulk standard unit that you can plug in and start playing your music through straight away but to me this is half the fun. The only thing i cant seem to sort is i have a fair bit of static noise and engine whir coming through the speakers. I have aftermarket amps installed in the boot and have tried all the usual tricks of grounding components to the same point, re routing/changing RCA leads, noise suppressor but the noise is still there. The only thing that helped a little bit is that i have run a new earth to the head unit from a factory earth point in the passenger footwell. Oddly if i replaced the loom earth with the new earth it didnt help but if i added it (so now the head unit is grounded to both the stock loom and footwell chassis) then it reduced the noise a little but still more noise than i would like. Is anyone else using after market amps with this head unit and worked out how to get around it or is it just an odd problem that I'm experiencing? Thanks Pete Edit: have fixed this now by using a ground loop isolator. It kills the bass but I use a low pass filter on the door speakers anyway so doesn't make much difference in that respect. Edit: I know some people have spoken about poor radio reception around the forum, anyone managed to reliably fix this?? I tested it without connecting the Ant wire, but the radio worked very poorly so I think I should connect it, but how? Mine is a facelift with the later radio amp and my radio reception is practically as good as oem. That said, when my Andrive was fitted we noted that my car had one of the earlier type harness connectors fitted and mine is a late 2005, so one of the last built. Not sure what to suggest buddy. Did I understand right that you meant that I should connect ILL wire from the main loom to ISO connector? It is so at the moment, but when the device is on the screen does bright flashes randomly and I'm not sure if the problem is with illumination or faulty device?
