Zone Problem On Wifi..:(

Recommended Posts

The go.e46zone.com works now, so must have been DNS somewhere.

The link goes to the proper address for the site and it works for me on my work PC, iPhone, home pc as well as loads of other members.

Have you cleared caches etc?

Clear my history/caches everytime I close the browser

The go.e46zone.com is definitively a DNS issue as it redirects to a TalkTalk error page for me (http://error.talktalk.co.uk/main?InterceptSource=0&ClientLocation=uk&ParticipantID=nmum6rqpq5q6gkm3933n3nf9s76onu6r&FailureMode=1&SearchQuery=&FailedURI=http%3A%2F%2Fgo.e46zone.com%2F&AddInType=4&Version=2.1.8-1.90base&Referer=&Implementation=0). Some people know how to change DNS's, but the general user doesn't which means it won't work for them

http://e46zone.com/forum seems to work from my PC now through TalkTalk, will check at work over the weekend, iPhone on O2 still errors :s

None of the pc's or phones in my house can access this site as of about 40 mins ago!

Use 3g and all ok.

Every other website works.

Use a DNS website, and it reports site as ok, and problem is my end.

Can ping ip of www.e46zone.com no problem

So, it looks like dns issue, but just for this site!

Anybody any ideas?

Hmmmm, first time for me.

Been cleaning my DNS setup on my server, as there was stacks of stale entries from when i've been building / testing servers, so thought i'd done something there, but i only removed internal 192.168.x.x addresses.

Done a quick fix by editing the hosts file in the etc folder, and manually doing the dns entry. But thats kinda naf, and you have to do it on every PC, and of course can't do that on the iPhone.

My guess is the some of the major broadband packages routed their connections through facilities that might have been affected by Hurricane Sandy, which caused many websites to grind to a halt or just go offline completely.

It'd make sense to have 3G etc routing through different server/web resources than broadband/Sky etc.

Just my guess, anyway :)

Except this issue has been present for weeks, sandy only hit a couple days ago
