I don't want to drill down into sub sections just to keep abreast of it.

Why would you want or need to look in, for example the Scottish section, for a local meet when you live in Northamptonshire?

You would look in the region that you wanted, this is the point.

Other areas of the forum have specific sub sections to narrow it down, otherwise it would just be a mess of random posts, placing things in logical sections makes it more organised, less cluttered and easier to find what you are looking for, so why wouldn't this for for meets & events?

The irony

How so, I have posted my views twice in this thread.

As for being from Northamptonshire and reading about Scottish meets, what is wrong with that?

As Gaz said earlier if we have 10 to 20 meets a year then if you had four subsections then some sections may have five meet threads and five after event threads...... 10 threads a year, how sad would that look?

I agree let it run, but lets be honest on a site this size if you get twenty votes suggesting change then is that really worth messing about with.

And just to pre'empt some answers, I know some other sites do it in sections but that doesn't mean that's why they have lots of meets.

Pretty clear which way this is going...

Sadly yes it is....out of 16400 or so registered members only 13 people seem to be bothered enough to vote for it.

Even if only 100 members were active its still a really poor effort.

I'd say its a pretty good representation. Out of all those members, how many of them are active? It's the same people posting all the time. Even if there was 100 people who regularly post, they wouldn't all vote

iv been a member of car forums since i started driving and regional forums all seem to get alot more "mini meets" tbh. people will have a better idea of whos about and whats going on in their area and theres nothing like a bit of local knowledge to make a great meet.

theres nothing stopping members from other areas attending either :)

Think its about time these were added now, its not hard to create a few more sections, its not like we have to setup regional co-orinaters at this moment in time (although that would be good, alot more meets would happen) If it all go's down hill then just take them off again.

Agreed, we just need to ask Sam to add the extra sections and take if from there...
