Mark_F Posted May 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted May 23, 2014 So, a little update. The car went in for its MOT and failed on a rear tyre. I swear I've never seen anything like it before, and no idea how the tyre was lacerated around the inside. Also got an advisory for the o/s front LCA, so that's gonna need replacing. In the meantime some absolute bumpy reversed into it and damaged the bumper. Just collected the car and I'm a very happy man! Brand new bumper and lower diffuser/moulding, and a very good paint match. So glad to be out of the Insignia. Felt alien driving the 46 again lol So it's going to have more maintenance work soon, bleeding me dry. Mark_F Posted June 11, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 11, 2014 so its booked in for (hopefully) the last of all the maintenance it needs. clutch and fly because theres a horrid vibration which disappears when you dip the clutch, brakes all round as theres quite a lip on each disc, LCA bush due to play in it, and a service. ive also bought an intravee which has been quite an investment. very pleased with that. due to bills etc ive done nothing in the way of bodywork/upgrades, something which i'm hoping that, once all the maintenance work is done, i can crack on with other things i.e small dents, wings/bonnet/bumper painting, maybe springs among other things. and then itll be a question of how long will i keep it after pumping almost £2.5k into it in fixing things over the year ive owned it. in my own mind ive got M3 running through it, E46 SMG and E90 DCT. though on reflection, even now, ill keep the vert. ive looked after it, its a good looking car, i should enjoy it even more when all the work is complete. more updates to come, slowly but surely haha Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
