MattBMW
About 930pm sunday house got burgled....gutted..... They managed to get through the communal door by using a piece of plastic and then kicked down our door. they took jewellery worth about 2k of which some had sentimental value as well as other expensive stuff. Unfortunately not insured and even if we had a policy, it would be void as the door locks do not comply with thier standards. in the process of sorting this out now, harsh lesson to learn.........you just never think it will be you until it happens. MattBMW
thanks for the kind responses, worse thing about it was we were only gone for about an hour. We had just popped out to drop off the kids to the inlaws and pick up up the brother inlaw's (he's 12) medication from the hospital as he broke his leg in two places while on a school trip. excuse house really it's a house coverted to flats, we live on the ground floor. When it happened there was no one in the two upstatirs flats, however the basement flat's residents were in and they knew when we had left. I think it was possible the neighbours downstairs that had something to do with it. Not being funny, we are always very careful when we leave the flat as, we always leave a light on and that night I looked about before we left and there was know one loittering. realistically the neighbours would have been the only ones who would have known we would be out. Also why did none of the other flats get broken into or for that matter any other house or flat along the road. In addition to this they did not take everythin, things like our wii, pc, tv and other expensive stuff tthey did not take. It would seem they only took the stuff that was concealable. It has been reported to the police and the forensics teams have been down and did manage to lift a couple of prints....so with any luck we might get a result. Big problem now is that the door is fooked and so is the frame and people are being real arseholes about prices to get it fixed...bye bye exhaust system and tints!!! Worse part is the door is being held make shift wise and there is the worry whoever it was may comeback! I've fixed and reinforced the doors and frames as best I can but hey I'm no carpenter! ///Marty
I'll be keeping an eye out, hopefully a missing item descriptions will be distributed to paw shops by the police?? Yeah fingers crossed. Personally i'd still be doing some research myself. Mate of mine got broken into and they got both sets of keys and nicked both the cars. He drove round for three nights and ended up finding both cars and getting them back with minimal damage.
