kirkynut Posted January 30, 2015 Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 I have read many threads on here and have searched tonight also about Eibach springs and ride comfort. From my reading, if I put Eibach Pro Springs on the Mrs 325i they will lower it slightly to get rid of the 4x4 look on 18's but will still be comfortable and not crashy etc. Can any owners of said Eibach Pro springs on a 6 cylinder petrol saloon confirm this as I have recently put Eibach Pro springs on my 2006 Fiesta ST150 and whereas I am ok with the ride, every now and then I hit pot hole and it is crashy, but most of the time it is just a little firmer than standard and I would not know the car was lowered? I don't think the Mrs would tolerate any crashyness at all, even on pot holes so just want confirmation that even over a pot hole no horrible crashy noise or feeling is experienced in a Beemer. They are different cars of different build quality and I suspect that Eibach make the springs to the expected audience. The typical ST150 owner is probably alot younger than me and likes them like that but there is no way I would want a BMW like that and suspect Eibach know that! I just want re-assurance before I consider canvassing the Mrs into letting me hit it with the lowering stick, even if slightly! Kirkynut Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I also drive a 318ti sport compact on standard sport springs and shocks (with new rear sport springs). I would say the compact is more comfortable, but its just a different ride quality. I'd like to put a pro kit on the compact but with new springs just on, thats not gonna happen. On the pro kit you have to watch out on speed bumps etc, it's alot lower than standard on a 6 pot petrol saloon. Firm ride but not crashy at all. I've only ever found it tiring on really cut up roads (few of them around my way), other than that I just can't fault it. They really are quite firm! Perhaps in time then I shall purchase some Eibach Pro springs and some new good quality dampers, such as Sachs OE equivalent to go with them. At the moment the phantom coolant leak is causing a loss of love in the E46 but I have today been and purchased a genuine water pump with composite impeller, that I am pinning my hopes on fixing the leak once and for all. Then perhaps I'll give it a clean and forgive it for the grief it's caused trying to find this leak the last 2 weeks! Apparently they are just rebranded eibach springs. Find it quite a hard setup. Lovely ride on motorways etc handles very well but imho a bit too hard for majority of British roads riddled with pot holes and speed bumps ! kirkynut Posted May 25, 2015 Author Report Share Posted May 25, 2015 I saw a mate that I don't see too often yesterday in a local petrol station in his Land Rover and we got talking about E46's as he is a BMW man too. He told me he has recently purchased a 323i saloon and has Prop springs on it and said he's bring it round for me to have a ride. Well he came round this morning and took me for a short ride and we went over some big pot holes. He has MV2's so similar tyres. The ride was great. Not crashy at all. You know you are in something with slightly sport suspension and it sits just right but it feels just right. So I think I shall look to get the Mrs can on some at some point in the future for sure. Thank you again to those who commented when I originally asked about this. Having experienced a ride in one for myself it was just as you described it.
