James Martin
Hi All Clubby more or less sailed through Insp. II today, with the garage noting some "seeping" from one of the rear shocks, and minor corrosion on the rear springs. They said for now not an issue and it would pass an MOT no problems, but I do like my car so may replace these when funds allow. My question is, does the clubsport share these parts with garden variety e46s, or are the unique to it or the m-sport spec etc etc..... ie. if a breaker has some I need to know what models they are interchangeable with It's a 330 Clubsport JM
Jay.
They are same as M-sport shocks mate
James Martin
Thanks Jay, I thought as much I know the clubsport is advertised as being "lowered" by BMW, but is it just lowered the same amount as a regular M-sport then?
Jay.
Thats right mate, There's a lot of hearsay about them bein lower but DanW who works for BMW confirmed they are the same springs & shocks
James Martin
Brill. Final question - are they interchangeable with M-Sport saloons and verts?
Jay.
No mate, the springs are different on the coupe/vert - not sure on the 'loon
Knuckle
Ive had a sport and a clubsport, and whilst my clubby is 2 years newer it was on similar miles and i can defintiely say its a harder ride and appears lower than my sport. Maybe it's the placebo affect of having the fastest colour.
chris
I thought the spring pads were thinner on the CS?
paulfoley30
I thought the spring pads were thinner on the CS? That's what I thought too, I was sure the CS was lower than a standard M Sport and if they share springs and shocks then this must be where they're getting the height. simonlpearce
Surely it would make more sense to replace them with new from GSF or somewhere similar?
