StuBeeDoo
What's the procedure for getting the display in the instrument panel, please? I assume it's done via the OBC button and/or the button(s) in the instrument panel. I've found one reference to it on the forum, but it looks to me like the poster is taking the wee-wee. TIA Stuart. StuBeeDoo
Always ask on the zone first I did, Rasa's right.............. you probably found the post where it says to flash ya lights and indicaters etc , was that the one, coz someone was taking the piss ..........Bury clutch pedal in the carpet, etc, etc. Not helpful, TBH, when someone (I won't be the only one) wants a proper answer to a genuine query. OK, so now that rant is over, thanks to Rich's post I've managed to check my coolant temp. The ambient temperature was 3.5deg. It took about 4 miles urban driving to get to 85deg, then fluctuated between that and 81deg. Sat waiting at traffic lights (twice), it was rock-steady at 83deg. The needle is bang in the middle of the scale. Does this seem about about right for an M57N?? The reason I wanted to check is my fuel consumption seems to have increased recently. TOOM
I think that's ok, after all it is winter. If you were driving on a open road, temp. would rise faster, and up higher. Edited January 31, 2014 by TOOM
Jester7
Hi, I did quite a bit of research on running temps before I checked this on my own car via OBC, 'normal' can seem to vary anything between high 70's to low 100's depending on a number of factors, though 85-98 seems to be the normal range of operation. My 330 M54 seems to like 88-94 under normal conditions. Yours doesn't seem terrible, maybe a litle low but I dunno if dervs generally run hotter or cooler. I'm sure an adult will be along soon to clarify for me Edited January 31, 2014 by Jester7
