Do any of you think this car is any good? I would get a Pre-Purchase inspection from either the AA or RAC to get the car looked at over by a professional (Which will cost around £300). ibrahimx2001
It is quite cheap for a car like that. But maybe it's priced that way as the mileage is quite high? have you contacted the seller?

zawpi
I haven't contacted the seller, the problem is that its around 100 miles away so i wouldn't want to make more then 1 trip!
dunk1
Look on autotrader, doesn't look far off on the price to me I don't get if its clean and tidy that means the owners trying to hide something, my cars are always clean and tidy

zawpi
He re-uploaded the add at £50 less? ive been looking around auto trader/ebay and this type of car goes for £4500-£7000?
vadimo
Get a £40 obd tool and ask him if you can plug it in? If no then he has something to hide. It is 165000 miles and no leather or auto - think its a good deal. Just inspect it thoroughly, test drive it and make sure everything he put in description stacks up, ie full service history
zawpi
I already have a tool i use to check for codes on the computer for my e46. It will get the RAC or the AA to get a full inspection of the car so a professional will get to check the whole car out. Is it worth travelling 100 miles to have a look at the car? shabir
sometimes you have to travel to get a good deal, ive never been to worried about making a trip for a car viewing, have come back with out the car a few times but enjoy the road trip
ibrahimx2001
I would say try find some more decent cars in that area and if it's not to your liking you can view some more cars in that area
feva
Price wise for the miles don't think it's too far off. The only thing (which having had a e90 320d)is it's a know issue with the engines to kill the timing chains. Look up n47 engine problems and you'll see its top of the list. Got rid of mine (which was 2010 plate in perfect condition, when the chain started making a noise) I loved mine but personally wouldn't touch one unless your prepared to possibly have the chain and tensioner etc... Changed at some point in the future. Engine and gearbox out job decent independent specialist should charge about £1500-2000 to do.
