Well, my name is Richard, I'm an IT Geek that lives in Reading with my partner and child. I'm around 32 years old and have been into tweaking cars since way back in my Fiesta 1.1 (Mk1) days that ran SPAX suspension.

Cars since have been a Citroen Visa GTi, Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9, Nissan 200sx (S13 modified ~ 270 bhp)), another 205 GTi 1.9 (I was rebuilding an Mi16 engine to put in it!) and then when my son was born I bought another Nissan 200sx (S14a this time, modified ~ 300bhp). Once my sons legs grew too long, the 200sx had to go, so I bought a sensible 'family car' which is an Alpina B3S.

The Alpinas a great car and only 1 of 30 sold in the UK. It has a 3.4L engine with 305bhp and 267ftlb out the box. The performance figures for the Switchtronic version (special Alpina auto gearbox) is: 0-62 = 5.9 seconds, top speed = 167mph (unlimited).

So far I have just been refreshing the car to last me the next few years... it has the following mods and repairs since my ownership (none due to failure!)

ICV 'bung' (idle control valve)

Intake cam sensor

NGK iridium spark plugs
