Looking good as always Keith! Not quite sure on the amber rear lights, as clear suits yours so well. But saying that i think amber suits black well too, but only black cars!

And know what you mean about the dam collar bolt :(

Put springs on mine the other week, and same setup as the E46! But i did not undo the collar bolts this time

Just sat and read though the whole thread, The cars an absolute credit to you pal,

I just wish i had half as much enthusiasm as you when it comes to cars,

Its always the same once i read a thread like this, you start off thinking wow, i now want to go home and clean my car and fix every imperfection possible, but once i get off the computer and the time comes to actually do it, i just think  ill do it tomorrow, and tomorrow never comes, ha ha.

Well done mate, shame its sold though :(

Easy fellas  long time!

Whats with the new forum  Thought I'd come to the wrong place at first!!!

Yep, Das is right, I'm now driving a...

...1.4 Golf Mk.3... 5 doors... BBS alloys lol.

BIG things have changed in my life since I was last around, after a nasty period in my personal life around the end of last summer (hence not making any shows etc). All of that lead to me doing a Houdini, and later selling the car. Believe it or not I now have issues that genuinely take priority over my BMW lol! That was unheard of before. ;)

I've got my own place, I'm engaged to a very special girl, and saving up for my wedding next year. Perhaps not quite as 'cool' as a nice car, but I'm happier and more excited than ever, so all good :)

The 1.4 smoker is p*ss cheap to insure and run, and I'm tucking away money each month I would never have been able to whilst running the M3.

Sorry you missed out Kabir, when I was thinking about selling, I messaged a guy who was on the lookout not half expecting it to come to anything, and he came down the next day with asking price - so it all happened very quickly to be honest.

Hope everyone is well?

Will be checking in and trying to get my head round this new format (!) so hope to catch up with recent goings-on.

Welcome mate. Long time no see.

Hope things are going better for you now!

Come on, pics of the 1.4 power house!

Double post! Good start! This new forum runs slow right?

Only really these last few days. Hopefully it gets better at the begining of next month.

Cheers dude, yeah everything is properly good. I'm happier than ever mate.

LOL, photo's of the Golf?! Already?

I don't want to cause any jealousy amongst you all here, she is a looker, and has enough torque to... er... churn butter...

LOL, yeah it serves a purpose.

So simple to work on you can sort anything with a hammer, and it maintains my unblemished German-only car history lol. Plus I can chuck the dog in the back... Something that wasnt going to happen on the Champagne leather :D

Welcome back Keith, trust things are on the up after what you mentioned has happened over the last few months etc.

Shame to see the e36 gone, is the new owner online? But then again, is looking at your old car online in the hands of another owner kind of like looking up your ex on facebook?!

As for the 1.4 golf - lol, I used to have one of those, its was the first car I ever bought (my 1st car was a hand me down from my mum!). Got me through college and uni, and never failed to let me down. 1.4 CL with all the CL goodness including manual locking, manual windows, 14" steelies..... was cheap as chips though.

heers mate, things are certainly on the up.

Just have to grit my teeth and deal with hardcore saving for a while whilst driving the affectionately named 'Sponge' (steering, throttle and brake response is akin to burying your foot into a sponge - i.e. nothing happens)... I need to save up £16k+ for the wedding, then and couple more for the honeymoon, and then save another £20k for a house deposit. All of this we aim to achieve in 2.5years, hence having to make some big changes and losing the nice ride was the first to go.

We still have the Cooper S which we share, but it;s far from providing the kicks the M3 did, and I don't care at all for FWD anyway.

Still, all for a good cause. Kind of liberating too, not having a car I care about. I can park it wherever, leave it wherever, and not feel compelled to replace any scuffed trim or even wash it. :D
