jayla
some of the steps i will not be able to show you as i did not take pictures while installing the lights and the pictures i taken now are after i finished the install. 1. first thing you need to do is take the side light blub and connector out of headlight. Then what you need to do is take half of the blub holder connector of the whole connector. just unclip with flat screw driver. pic 1 shows what the bulb holder side looks like. other side i could know show as i did not take picture. 2. now cut the 2 red spade to the same width of pic 2. as this red spade is what will go into the sidelight connector to replace the bulb holder. use wire cutters (pliers) to cute spade to correct with. 3. after you have installed the rings and the inverters and bought the wires out of headlamp. then only crimp on the red spades. btw u need to put heat shrink on the wire so might be better to do that first then crimp red spade connectors. 4. now you need to use a tester to work out what is positive and neg on the side light connecter. then insert the red spades connector to the correct polarity connector on the side light connector. i did nt take picture of this stage. 5. final stage is to over red spades and wiring with heat shrink and use soldering iron to heat it up and then use tie clips to clip to any wiring loom you like. picture is shown below. do the same to other side. Put back bulb into headlight so it stay sealed still. Ps as I did not like the clips they provided to hold the ccfl ring I installed some metal mini paper clip which did a much better job. Guest Pablo_Emms
I've read on other forums about 'wiring to the ecu' on the E46, which I wouldnt want to do, on my E36's have always tapped into the sidelight circuit as you have..
