Jorge-
3 quick, I hope but can't see it being the case, questions: 1) The passenger mirror seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. Stick it in reverse, goes down as it should, back into first, it will either stay there, go to where it should go, go to a different position (just below where it should go, and where the previous owner had it stored in memory 1) or look at the sky! No consitency with it, just completely random, never left or right, just up and down too. 2) Electric memory seats - my driver seat memory, it doesn't move forward or backwards when you select a number, all other adjustments and mirrors work, and the adjustments work perfectly on their own. Just when you press the button nothing happens. 3) Probably the most annoying, however I have seen an answer for this. I cleaned my car last weekend and when I got in to drive it, just get a constant beep and no sensor noise. I've given it a week to dry out if that was the problem, is there anyway to check for fault codes on this? Code reader said nothing to me. Will it be a replace job do you know or will it have come loose? Thanks lol
snowcatxx87
It seems to me your memory module is faulty. The module controls mirror memory AND seat memory, so it makes sense why both of these items are failing - they're related. You'd need to hookup to a bmw computer (GT1/MODIC) to test the module, perhaps reprogram it, or replace it.
Jorge-
Ah okay, I'll take a trip to Onkar one day then to see if he can have a fiddle and program some extra features at the same time
mit
1. Mine does that, been told they all do, the E90 courtesy car did it too, so might be true. 2. I have to hold my button down to move the seat, but your problem sounds like the memory module thingy in the door. 3. Parking sensors you mean? I get the same in heavy rain, but it clears itself up. I reckon it's a loose connection but might just be sensors need reset (my car only does this since BMW changed the rear bumper, bastards)!
Jorge-
Yeah sorry parking sensor! Can you see them behind the bumper easily or is it a bumper off job?
ROOKiE
Jorge if you find out it is a knackered memory module give me a shout mate, I have one that I could let you have for a reasonable price

autosri
It sounds a reasonable guess the moduleis on it's way out just out of interest where does he module live Mine did the continuous beepingso bought a couple of sensors off eBay and kept changing them till it sorted it also it's just about possible to do it without removing the bumper just remove the diffuser the only one you really struggle with is the one above the exhaust I goths mrs to do that one as she has smaller arms to push them out you need te be a little agresive go get your socket set find a socket that is the same size as the centre of the sensor I think it's about a 13mm and just tap it with the palm of your handand it falls inside the bumper
Jorge-
Thanks, I will look into it and keep this thread updated. I read somewhere if I put the car into reverse I should be able to hear the sensors 'buzzing' ?
autosri
The sensors should goclick click click as soon as it's in reverse but to be fair mine all clicked and 2 were still faulty two were louder and two were quite so changed the quite ones and still faulty so changed the other two and it was the loud ones that were faulty

Well technically yes, because they are all on an ibus, but no they aren't linked in the way you mean.

Jorge-
No, they come on fine, if I am honest, they haven't worked for a few weeks I don't think. Does Rain-X cause any problems? I treated the windscreen with it, but I also did when I got the car and it was fine that time. Its the only thing I can think that has changed. mit
Yeah rain-x alters the behaviour of water on the screen so it's possible... but Daz swears by the stuff and I'm pretty sure he has auto wipers too?
Jorge-
I swear by it too, my Dads E92 is coated in it and he has no problems.. I'll try clean it off, use some AG Glass polish or something
