Now I have managed to get some sleep I think I better post my thoughts on the day.F****ing Ace people,by far the best meet I have been to all year,I was about to give up hope. From the sublime convoy on sunday mornring (nice one Vikz) to the overall turnout,t shirts, stand and the truly amazing people I met yesterday.I think we should all congartulate ourselves for making this such a great first time meet, its just awesome that a bunch of guys and gals who have not even met each other can pull off something like this.I am truly inspired by all of YOU.Special thanks to dicky,Sam and anyone else who have put in their valuable time.We need to do this more often I think.

The only thing i will say about the stand guys is that i cannot see the banner in any of the pictures, possibly look at an alternative position for it next time instead of being tucked away.

Great day though and some great pictures, i already have at least 2k's worth of mods that i want to do.

BTW Mrs Pearce was happy for the mention, thanks.

Right guys, Sorry for the long post but there is lots to talk about!

Sorry its taken so long for me to get back on but it was nearly 10pm when i got last night and i've been mad busy in Sheffield all day today.

Firstly i would just like to say OMFG what a weekend!

That was without doubt, the best meet i've ever been to. It was excellent to meet up with lots of the forum members as being ooop north its a bit far for me to come to the southern stuff usually. We really couldn't have asked for better weather, i also had a bit of sunburn last night but i'm pleased to say that this morning i looked more like i'd been abroad for the weekend!

Was really great to see so many people turn out for the forum yesterday (i'm sure the weather had something to do with it :P) and some really nice cars. It's great to see the cars in the flesh as quite often pictures just don't do them justice.

Apologies if i didn't get to speak to everyone, i think i did speak to most of you and for those i did speak to it was excellent to meet you and as Stevie said, great to see what an amazing bunch of people we have on here.

I didn't take a massive amount of photographs as i didn't have my camera for most of Saturday and i'm afraid my pics aren't up to the standards of the others (Good skills dicky) but here are the few that are on my camera. Thanks to Simon for looking after my camera all day on Saturday and getting some photos and video of the strip.

The red Seat i was up against was a bit of a track sl*g. Re-mapped and completley stripped out including full removal of the dash! :P His best time of the day was a 13:8 so there was no way i was getting anywhere near him. Only got ahead of him on that run cos he messed up at the start line.

Had a couple of runs with dicky, was never expecting to beat him but it was good fun trying!

This was the last and for me most enjoyable run of the day.

http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/m...santapod017.flv

Only managed to get four or five runs in as the strip was extremely busy and at times i was queing for almost 40 mins to get a run! My worst run came in at a pitiful 16.1 but this was most definately down to the fact that it was the first time that i tried to do it with the traction control turned off completely (pressed and held until handbrake light came on in orange) and after dumping the clutch at about 3000 rpm the car just sat still spinning the back wheels for what seemed like ages. ;)

Had my re-map done in the afternoon and on my second run after the remap Simon made me a happy man when he informed me that i had set the fastest E46zone time of the day with a 15.1! My glee was shortlived however as minutes later, i went up against dicky again and he promptly slammed home a 14.9! Good skills mate and damn you and your UUC pulleys! LOL.

I think with some more practice, 15 seconds would definately be doable even without the pulleys, just need to figure out the best way to get my launch on.

Saturday night was excellent, plenty of alcohol, plenty of food, and good times with dicky, Simon, Simon, Sean, Lee, Dave and Ian in the end! Top work to Ian for bringing the keys up and glad to see you on the forum now mate, can't wait to see what sort of times your hot rod will be pulling. :)

Breakfast was eventful to say the least, dicky managed to almost blow up the campsite with a stove and a bottle of gas, and Dave gave Usain Bolt a run for his money by doing the 100 meters to the car park quick time to get away from the quickly developing fireball! lol.

Bacon butties were good, thanks to an excellent pan provided by dicky's dad.

Whilst walking thru the car park, we noticed a belgian E46 saloon with M3 style quads. We went over to investigate:

008jpg.jpg

A little closer inspection revealed that they wern't in fact quads, but some pipes duck taped together and cable tied to the underside of the car. lol

After this we went over to our arena and set up the gazebo (well done Dave you gazebo wh*re) and did some quality organised parking to get all the cars lined up and spaced correctely.

First thing in the morning when it was still very cold!

Didn't really get any later on but here are a couple i did take.

Great to see we've already had some new members, welcome to everyone and hello again if it was me who you were talking to or gave you a site flyer.

Thanks to everyone involved for an excellent weekend, and thanks to Colin at CNL for doing my remap, the car is running lovely and MPG on the way home went from averaging 25.6 to 33.2 despite having cruise set at 95 for the majority of the journey home. ;) Can't wait to see what it does once it's fully worn in :P

Marty - Those proffesional shots of yours look ace.

Definatly worth it

Thanks Mooney,

Well worth the money, although my missus does think they cost half what they actually did. :) God knows what dicky told his missus. ;)

Was nice to meet you on Sunday.

Mate those photos look the nuts. Makes me wish i had had more printed now. Moved in to my new office today and there is a nice freshly plastered wall in front of my desk which is just begging for some pictures on it. Might have to look at getting some of the other proffessionally printed and framed.

You can try and download that video from my photobucket account and transfer it. It's an AVI file so you will need to use something like videora convertor to put into mp4 i think, unless the i-phone can play AVI files? If you need it compressing and emailing just let me know.

I took far too many photos! Here are some of the best stand/E46Zone mob ones.

Those are some excellent photos Sam, apart from the one of us all stood around where my gut looks like father christmas'. :) Did you use some sort of fish eye lense on the car shots or is it just the angle of the picture?

*Geek mode*

Its just a "standard" camera, not a SLR. It has a wide lens, so more fits in the shot, but the down side is it has a fish eye effect. You usually don't notice it on portrait shots, but up close you do.

*end*

Camera is a Canon 860IS.

I can upload the originals of your motor if you like.
