M5Sime
Hi all, I do not have the lumbar option in my clubsport, and was already thinking that I might get an M3 seat set and retrofit.. Anyone know the difference of the seats in terms of comfort, space (the Msport seats have quite wide bolsters), hoping the M's might be narrower and tighter. I believe the Bolsters are a little larger. M logo in headrest... Was also thinking of retrofitting the heated seats (IF they come in the M seats).. Assume this is some loom additions and a panel update for the heated buttons. Cheers Sime
Daz 330 Cs
Heated seats are not standard on the M seats , but if you can find a nice set they go straight in with no problems . They aint cheap though
Deezer-D
Mine have lumbar support and adjustable bolsters + heat. Straight swap if you have electric memory seats already. If you don't have heat you'll need the switch panel (where your DSC switch is) and do a bit of wiring
M5Sime
Thanks guys... So, what about the question of shape/comfort differences... I am finding my M sport seats a bit odd... (does not have lumbar as mentioned, so cannot change the shape of the back). They are not quite tight sporty, and not quite comfortable and cosseting.. I find myself feeling like I am on them, rather than sitting in them.. Just me?? Ta Simes
Deezer-D
I swapped my sport interior for an M3 interior in my 330. I found the M3 seats to be far superior. Press a button on the side and the bolsters inflate and hold you firmly in place. You can deflate them when you wan a bit more space. Lumbar support is 4 way adjustable. Nappa leather is nicer than the dakota standard leather.

Deezer-D
Paid £800 from FAB (BMW breakers) delivered. I live in N Ireland so £100 of that was delivery. Prices range from 600-800 on eBay. Mine was a full interior, front and rear seats and all 4 door cards.

stringy93
Ive fitted an M3 interior into mine. Its one of my favourite mods by far. You cant beat the feel of soft nappa leather They do have the ///M logo on the headrests As Deezer-D said, Aslong as you've electric seats its just plug in and play
mit
You could do lumbar adjustment retrofit if that's all you're after...
Daz 330 Cs
You could do lumbar adjustment retrofit if that's all you're after... Blooming heck thats some task there , wouldn't be keen on stripping my seats apart like that in case i knackered the job up !
mit
lol yeah the lengths some people go to... but I guess if he did it when the car was new then to swap the seats out would have cost loads more and it was probably worth the risk. Plus people in the USA have garages bigger than Buckingham Palace
Matt_330CI
Soo glad I'm not the only person that feels the seats in the 330 are a little less than supportive. They have huge deep bolsters, but they're so far apart, unless you weight 20 stone you dont touch either of them. Ironically, I lost loads of weight, kinda wish I didnt bother now lol. How would I know which leather I have in mine? Some mention Napa - is this ONLY on M3 seats?

Gaz
M5Sime - dunno if it's any help - but this guys selling a fully electric leather M3 interior for £550 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E46-M3-3-SERIES-...=item33617c7668 That auction says they were removed from a M3 'vert. They aren't vert seats though. I thought the M3 verts had the same seats as the sports?

simonlpearce
Vert seats have the seatbelt guide on the headrest dont they? So what does a decent non-m setup go for these days?
M5Sime
Thanks guys for the links.. I have been searching eBay.. I want heated if I can get them and perhaps an interesting colour.. What do you guys think about (to go with an Estoril blue exterior and black interior) Kiwi - ? The blue? (forgot the colour) Red? Not keen on Grey. Could live with white/light cream Of course black would be the most original Cheers Sime
simonlpearce
If your going to do it the only colour you should look out for is the berry red (also cant remember the actual colour).

If they are heated you have a little button next to the DSC button which turns the heater on. It has 3 settings 1)Toasted Balls, 2) Just sweaty balls and 3) Barely even warms your balls!
