Looks like its just a facelift/ar*elift as the middle of the car and the passenger compartment looks the same as the old car! Headlamps look WAY too big for the car IMO.. Like you say, just when you thought the front end of a 1 series could'nt get any worse, well, there you have it. I do wonder sometimes if car manufacturers have ever heard of focus groups. IMO, in the 21st century, when they're fighting for sales, there's no excuse for any top maker to design and put in to production an ugly car. It can litterally make or break a model IMO. Look at the latest Subaru Impreza - a car, that in it's previous incarnations sold by the bucket load. How many new shape ones do you see? Epic fail from Subaru. IMO, with the 1 series, BMW will be relying soley on badge loyalty/snobbery to sell it. The dumb people that would spend £20k on a 116i with cloth seats and no spec just to have the roundel on their bonnet. The sensible ones would spend that £20k on something good, like a Golf GTi or Megane RS etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The fact it is white with red leather is a huge bonus to him but as a drivers car the C class and Audis couldn't come close. Leasing companies seem to prefer 1 series now too (cost I guess) so they'll still get the sales. Can't compare Subaru to BMW in this case, BMWs will sell regardless of how they look. The current 3 isnt ugly, It's just a tad bland in saloon shape. Bland is different to ugly, ugly is offensive, bland is just that. Hate 3 series saloons, dipsise 1 series 5 door hatches, 7's too big, hate X1-6's the only BMW with back doors I can stomach is the 5 series.
