Matt_330CI
I doubt rain water on a spotlessly clean car would have done much if anything, but not worth the risk really.
330ci_si
So just so I have this right You had bird poo, You scrubbed it off You then polished it causing swirls. You own a machine polisher? Did you use this when you polished it, or did you polish it by hand? There's only one thing for bird s**t IMO, hot soapy water, soak and GENTLY remove it. There's all sorts of abbrassives and acids in it. I once had some on my window on a previous car. I didnt want to wash a clean patch so I left it during the week until I could wash the whole car. However, I had to open the window to get in the car (garaged, small door opening space, curved pillarless windows/doors) However, after a few days of opening and closing the window with bird s**t on it the s**t actually etched a huge scratch in the glass! Basically yes, I did mess up, I think it looked a lot worse than it was, it's all well now, lesson learned and all that....
330ci_si
Say what Bubba ? To the OP, you sure it was only on the car that day ? Sounds like it was there a bit longer than that It was only a day without a doubt, as I park my van right next to the BM, and have a quick look round every day, it was a scorcher so it was well baked on there! DJ Syxx
I found the safest way of removing it is hot water, hot enough but whereby you can still put your hand in. I usually fill the kettle and half boil it. Pour it over the affected area then start to slowly wipe off with toilet tissue and repeat as required to get any residue of s**t off. analbeard
I doubt rain water on a spotlessly clean car would have done much if anything, but not worth the risk really. It's very rare that rain doesn't have dust or dirt in it too, rain is hardly ever just pure water
Matt_330CI
I dont doubt that. But where does the water come from that I hose my car down with when washing it? I doubt tap water is perfectly clean.
Daz 330 Cs
I wouldnt put any kind of paper on my paint wet or dry. Not even bog roll ? If it's good enough for your crease, it's good enough for the car
Matt_330CI
If I scratch my arse it wont take me a day to polish out lol. Things that touch my paint Microfibre cloth & noodle mit DA polishing pads Clay Megs applicators Nothing else I can think of. I dont even like people touching it with their fingers lol. Yes, I have a problem, but it's my problem, and I like my problem.

Matt_330CI
i soak a few sheets of kitchen roll, break bits off and leave on the bird poo for 5 minutes then just wipe off. I'd do that. Hot water with a bit of shampoo, soak a sheet, "stick" it on the body over the crap, leave to heat/soak, peel it off and then wash the car. scrimja
Am I the only one who just washes off bird poo in my normal cleaning routine? Pressure washer usually takes it off, the snowfoam taking off any of the last bits.
Matt_330CI
Depends when the bird poos on it. I'm not washing my whole car when I'm at the girlfriends or if it's pissing down with rain or it's a work day when I dont get home till 8-8.30pm

I'm not washing my whole car when I'm at the girlfriends or if it's pissing down with rain or it's a work day when I dont get home till 8-8.30pm True. But then I don't tend to wash it off STRAIGHT away. I've never had a problem with it on the BM. Did once leave bird poo on for 4 months on my old car, that left a mark Gaz
Frobius
Word. If I've just washed it and it gets shat on, I'll prob use some Supagard bird lime neutraliser and AG quick detailed to get it off. If the car is minging, I'll soak the crusty bit with hot water until the worst of it falls off, bit more Supagard then leave it till I next wash. *-jester-*
^^ LOL Here's a tip for future stubborn poos... get a soaking wet rag or sponge (warm water works quicker) and leave it scrunched up on top of the offending poo for a good 10-15 mins, the water will soak into the poo making it easier to wipe away
RickyZ
Wet tea bag, sounds strange but works everytime, just leave for 5 mins rinse and wipe, job done, plus cup of tea after WIN WIN lol mit

D-Power
I agree with jester 1) Soak an old chamois or jay cloth in some very hot, very soapy water 2) Place it over the bird shiz and leave to soften the dirt for a good while. 3) Peel cloth off bodywork (carefull not to rub it on the paint) 4) Try hosing it off, or pat the area gently with you wash mitt. Also works great for bug splatter and is a trick a lot of bikers use to keep their helmets clean, ahem
Zim
Hot water and a soaking works for me too in most cases, I also have a pack of baby wipes in the car for emergencies, il use them whilst out and about if i notice a fresh one,,
