Gaz
In terms of English yes as was stated above all cars have a stance, however using the term "stanced" as we all know it to mean, i.e. slammed to the floor then no most of us on here dont AFAIK. Whilst I 100% disagree with your argument, the statement above I do agree with. Whilst stanced doesn't technically mean low with wide wheels, that's definitely how people use it. Just like calling a car slammed. Slammed doesn't mean lowered, but everyone knows what you mean by it. I really couldn't give two s**ts on anyone elses opinion on cheapy coilovers, 99% who slate em haven't had them or just have a downer on them because theyre so cheap, I've never owned a Lada Niva but I can tell you they're a pile of s**t! Wash
It was to make a point, "stanced" cars are too low to be of any use except at shows, you know what I mean So you're saying all the people who have low cars can't use them anywhere but at shows? Lots of people on this forum have low cars, Jay, Luke, Gaz, El Turko and countless more, are you saying all of them only take their cars out for shows? Having a stanced M3 means old woman, Keith's is lowered but its done properly not just dropped to the floor, no M3 owner would do that but 99.999999% of country roads (where you can have fun) are not flat or smooth You can't talk about lowering done properly, you have different suspension front and rear... Low cars have no problems going on roads that are not flat or smooth, they just struggle with going over speed humps/steep driveways. Lots of people on this forum have low cars, Jay, Luke, Gaz, El Turko and countless more, are you saying all of them only take their cars out for shows? Yep as they are too low to be practical, all too low for me and I cant honestly believe they are practical as a daily. You can't talk about lowering done properly, you have different suspension front and rear... Low cars have no problems going on roads that are not flat or smooth, they just struggle with going over speed humps/steep driveways. Define properly, mine is a sensible height and does not scrape, nor is it unsafe or dangerous as many told me (incorrectly) it would be, I would say thats been done properly. I beg to differ, if the road is uneven and the car cannot get over a speed bump it will bottom out and/or scrape, this to me is a problem.
Jay.
Ricky, i'm not being funny but having never owned a car on coilovers how can you say its no good as a daily? My car & about 6 other cars i've owned have all been dailies & i have coped pretty well with them, no fillings fell out & no back pain etc. Mine & chrish's car are extremley low & we both find it quite easy to drive round on a day to day basis. Err, I wouldnt agree. They can physically go down the road/lane etc - but in many cases it is at a SERIOUSLY reduced speed to avoid taking the sump/exh/ARB off the car! ALL the cars Ive lowered have somehow compromised their high speed country road capability. I could go as fast down a particular road in my Laguna 1.8 as I could in my Nissan 200sx. Id wind it up to about 80-85 and the suspension on the lagina could handle it as it had the suspension travel to cope. The Nissan just wanted to throw you off the road or into one of the various telegraph poles littering the road... 85mph. Same speed with half the power. El Turko
I'd just like to say that at the weekend with 3 passengers and myself, nothing rubbed on my car. So im finding it tough to swallow criticism and be called impractical from a guy thats rubbing everytime he turns the corner with mix & match suspension, and budget tyres. Just makes me LOL. People will have their opinions, and you cant change them. Wash, paulyb, SamN and 1 other

I beg to differ, if the road is uneven and the car cannot get over a speed bump it will bottom out and/or scrape, this to me is a problem. Just being sensible sensible height and not scraping the ground doesn't mean your car has been lowered properly. If I cut my coil springs, I'm sure my car would also be of a sensible height and not scrape, does that mean it's lowered properly? It's not been done properly because the suspension is completely different front to rear. If you're talking about ridiculously low cars (most of which are on adjustable ride height suspension) then you probably would have issues but that M3 which Luke posted which showed a low car wouldn't really have problems on country roads. Having been in Jay's car (it was only briefly, he started grabbing my leg) it was far from uncomfortable, sure you knew it was lowered and a bit bumpier than standard, but it was far from bad! Anyway, DK's afraid to lower his car incase one of these "big stones" hits the underside of the car and damages his Platinum/Gold SSG Gearbag!
