Nikon D3100 Dslr With 18-55 Vr Lens - 3 Weeks Old

Recommended Posts

This is the for sale thread of my Brand New Nikon D3100.

It's literally no older than 3 weeks old, bought on the 20th August 2012 from Argos.

I have taken less than 50 photos with it and I would say 90% of them have been in the house getting used to the camera and playing with the settings.

The battery has honestly only been charged once!

You may off seen my thread about a beginner DSLR in the Off topic banter - http://www.e46zone.c...-beginner-dslr/

I thought I wanted to start photography and get into all the nice editing side of things but simply I am not that enthusiastic as I thought I would be. I bought it for intentions to get 'good' with it and then take it to New York with me in January and get some lovely pics there.

This was definately an impulse buy and like I said above, Ive taken no more than 50 photos within 3 weeks of owning it, it's spend most of it's 3 week life sat in the box on my chair :P

I am no photographer but this camera is great for beginners, the guide mode on this is great and it explains everything in detail. I would recommend this camera to any that wants to start photography :)

Right, the spec...

More can be found on the Argos wesite or any camera website although I will get more pics of the camera and all the accesories :D

This camera will come in the box with everything, I haven't thrown away anything.

The Nikon CD software hasn't even been taken out of the wallet.

The Nikon warrenty is still in the box.

I can't stress how new this camera is, there are NO marks on it what so ever, just as you'd expect from something less than 3 weeks old.

Like I said above, I will provide more pics and I have the orginal receipt from my purchase.

Price.

I bought this camera from Argos for £362.50 + 32gb SD card (which will hold well over 2000 photos) for £30.

So in total, I spent: £392.50.

I am asking for £350 delivered for everything, considering its age and condition. Also, the 32gb SD card will come with the sale.

The camera will be posted with 1st class recorded / tracked and insured delivery.

Payment to be via PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cash on Collection. (Would prefer Cash)

Please comment / PM me or Text; 07769342030

Thanks, Tom

You realise if you want the buyer to pay the fees it brings the price back up to what it would cost to walk into Argos and buy it again?

Not sure, but when I sold an iPhone on ebay a few years ago for £350 I ended up paying £50 in fees... I think it went about half and half paypal/ebay...

Oh yeah Argos have that no quibble money back thing... you should do that.

Actually you should keep the camera because it'll be handy to have even on auto mode and you don't need to be a photoshop wiz to make great photos. Photoshopping them actually means you weren't very good at taking them in the first place

That would have been mostly eBay

I have this camera - its fantastic!

Edit - dude, keep your camera, invest in some photography lessons if needs be. Don't go to new york and take crappy point and shot images then regret it when you get home and they look flat and dull.

Buy photography magazines, and go out and play / learn until it becomes second nature!

It will be worth it!

It's really annoying actually, I totally would have had this off you if I hadn't bought my Panasonic Lumix last Wednesday! Oh well :/

well do it then! I've been going away all sorts of places purely to take pictures lol.

Just got back from climbing snowdon yesterday - got great pics, lovely weather too!

honestly, give it another month, then see how you feel. i think you're asking too much for it to. I paid £100 less retail from a local camera shop for a used one with 6 months warranty.

No, I'm mostly happy with the Panasonic :P

I think your biggest problem here is you keep putting it back in the box. I got a camera bag for mine as soon as I got it. In fact I left the box in Currys and got them to charge the battery for me while I went to the cinema, and took it straight out to use. Only went back for the box the next day. It's been with me to the Paralympics Opening Ceremony, Table Tennis, Basketball (twice), Goalball, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair marathon road race and Closing Ceremony. If I'd have kept putting it back in the box I would never have used it.

For now I'm mostly using mine like a point and shoot, i.e. take lots of photos and discard the rubbish ones, but even those are coming out a lot better than my small point and shoot would have done. Starting to fiddle with settings to get better results, but the only way to get better is to practice.

Wow, im not jealous! I would of loved to go the Opening Ceremony and to watch some of the sport! You get some good pics?

Yes I need to hide the box and leave it out so I play on it more.

Yep totally agree, hide the box!

Yes will have to do this.

If it doesn't sell them im not too fussed as I have things coming up in the upcomming 4 weeks so the camera will get used :)

I've probably taken about 1500 photos of the Paralympics, some good, some bad. Haven't had time to go through them yet.

Would love to get to a point where I can just take a few great photos and not have to eliminate any bad ones, but with this kind of thing you almost miss out on the moment if you try to set things up for the perfect shot! Ironically it's instagram on my phone that has rekindled my interest in photography :)

You see, in my opinion, that's one of the benefits of a DSLR is the ability to quickly take lots of pics and get the right one. Practice will reduce the number of discarded ones and improve the framing and setting but you will always need to take more than the one you want..

We had a family photo shoot just the other week, the photographer took just over 300 shots in 90 minutes but we only got to see about 80 of those presumably due to the other 220 not being quite right?

Hmm, in that case I was doing it right. Going off topic though. Except it's kind of on topic as we all seem to want Profitt to keep his camera!
