Once you've done the 10secs on then 10secs off...half way through way you will hear a click under the handbrake area. position 1 worked for me, before I did it I really need to give it some when reversing etc so it didn't stall, after the position 1 reset its fine, maybe its position 1 or 2 ?? as I did position 2 as well but no difference to the improvement I experienced from position 1... Larry D Posted December 31, 2012 Report Share Posted December 31, 2012 If you have a cable driven throttle you can get the same sort of effect by disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes, you m54 guys could use that way to. Wire a battery cut off switch into your dash or phone tray, then simply flick it off when you park, back on to start the car next time, instant reset. 330cian Posted April 18, 2014 Report Share Posted April 18, 2014 I just tried this, and there's a definite improvement in throttle response and therefore power availability in gears 1 and 2 from launch and out of corners/roundabouts etc. The engine seems to be getting through the rev range to the red line quicker, so I need to watch out for that! Testaculese Posted July 28, 2014 Report Share Posted July 28, 2014 Tried this, thought i'd share my results. My car is a pre-facelift 2001 325 auto. Just recently got it so no idea what previous driver was like. Tried the re-set procedure using position 2 on the ignition barrell. I heard an audible but faint click (like a relay) from the glovebox area after about the right amount of time. As for the result, i'm pretty sure the previous owner must have wafted to the shops and back all day as the difference was dramatic! First pull away from a junction the thing took off like a stabbed rat! Even the DSC stepped in. I have found after a week of driving sedately to work and back the box and 'learned' and reverted back to 'lazy old man mode' So from now on i'll either reset it every week or just drive it to work li I stole it Chimp Choker, SlamE46 and TOOM 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fire up inpa Select e46 Engine, then select engine type m54 etc. F4 or error F7 or adaption I normally clear all.
