Sam
Its not actually an issue with the site. e46zone.com redirects to www.e46zone.com, so its your computer/browser that didn't like it. Even the replies you got said it works for other people. You can't complain about an issue with the site when its really an issue with your pc! mit
I'm finding the zone often doesn't respond when using my phone. I've only recently started accessing it from my phone though so no idea if it's always been like that. Seems to be a DNS resolution issue from what I can tell, but I don't have any troubleshooting tools I can use from my phone.

I clearly pointed out that the forum button the homepage points to http://e46zone.com/forum
Colossuss
Yes it must be an issue with just my PC when other people have the same problem from their own PC's/laptop's/phone's on multiple ISP's: is broken forwards to http://e46zone.com/forum/ and errors works fine with www.e46zone.com/forum/ Mines the same, on my iPad I can't get to forum from the homepage but on my laptop I can, strange I have just tried to click a link from a topic on here to an eBay item and got the error you're talking about, in chrome. I'm getting the same error.... Odd Same thing happens to me randomly - sometimes it will work sometimes it wont. Looks to be more of a DNS issue than anything else I think. None of the pc's or phones in my house can access this site as of about 40 mins ago! Use 3g and all ok. Every other website works. Use a DNS website, and it reports site as ok, and problem is my end. Can ping ip of www.e46zone.com no problem So, it looks like dns issue, but just for this site! Anybody any ideas? I keep having issues, it sometimes comes up with server errors or something its really annoying.
Colossuss
Only my PC, apparently I keep having trouble too 'page not found' for short periods and seems to only be his site. I am having this problem as well! It's getting on me nerves!!!!! Allenmnmn i'm getting this issue almost every time i start my computer, wont see the zone for about 15mins, just getting server errors. Same. It's been like that on and off for ages. Yup, a cluster bomb in general lately Mobile or main Pc, hit and miss finding the zone online.
Colossuss
It is Talk Talk and not the site.. No it's the domain setup. If it was TalkTalk you wouldn't be able to get to anything that doesn't use www

Now Ive read the rest what you say makes sense. ;-)
Sam
But it doesn't matter as e46zone.com redirects to www.e46zone.com. If your DNS can't fathom that, it isn't the sites fault.
GAZ 2617
If it was the service provider would it not give error messages all the time? I'm on wifi now and haven't changed anything or deleted anything on my phone.

I'm on wifi now and haven't changed anything or deleted anything on my phone. Exactly I could take a stab in the dark and say the cname's aren't set up or are set up incorrectly, but it's hard to say without looking at it. Of course Sam, it could only be my DNS that's at fault. Because no one else has the same issue at all. No one reporting the same errors anywhere on this thread. No way, not at all. That would never ever happen!
Sam
It doesn't use cnames, which people tend to steer clear off these days, but uses A records. The A record for e46zone.com is setup, so whats wrong then. DNS is public, so you can check all you want, and tell me what you think is the issue. Some people are complaining, but most are on the same ISP's and I've never had a problem, so how is it the site?
Gaz
Not to jump in to an argument, but I have the same problems and that's with o2 for my home broadband and Kabel Deutschland for my work connection.

Colossuss
OpenDNS, if it is DNS related Sam its hard to say exactly what the problem is without seeing the set up and trying things out

mit
Sam I think the problem is you have to have a permanent URL rewrite for www.e46zone.com to e46zone.com Using a-records won't achieve that. Your web server needs to be listening for host header www.e46zone.com and have a rule in place that redirects any request to e46zone.com So if I enter www.e46zone.com/blahblahblah it should tell my browser to request e46zone/blahblahblah instead. That doesn't happen on the zone, and never has as far as I remember. Of course if you tell me you've got a proper rewrite in place, it might be that there's some extra config to do. For the moment the zone works for me so I'm not too fussed
Sam
Swap those domains around Mit and you're right. The rewrite is done via htaccess, and works exactally as you've said for me.
mit
OK... Well I can tell you for sure that O2 have a transparent proxy on their network. Could be a caching issue there. Wouldn't surprise me if the likes of talk talk have something similar because they are always peddling the family safety options of their broadband. I don't think your rewrite is working properly though. If I go to using Chrome it works. If I go to I get a DNS failure. I am expecting to be redirected to Edited November 20, 2012 by mit
Sam
Your non www link works for me and redirects to the www. So the redirect works, like I say.
mit
Your non www link works for me and redirects to the www. So the redirect works, like I say. It probably works for you because it's already in your DNS cache somehow. I'm at work on a corporate LAN and it's not resolving. Nothing to do with random weird internet provider proxies and such. Happy to troubleshoot a bit more if you like?
