Kenkus28
As the title suggests. I am looking to switch from maximuscle to myprotein products as maximuscle is a bit too over my monthly budget now and i was wondering if anyone on here has used them and seen good results. PS: This is a serious topic and i would appreciate if minimal piss taken is done. cheers Using the best phablet ever
Jakem1990
Hi mate, I've been a quite a keen gym goer for 5 years now and have tryed many supplements over the years. I've tryed some expensive ones, optimum nutrition! Some cheap crap, homemade gym supplements! I have recently been on a course of my protein for 3 months. Bought egg white powder for morning, hurricane/ whey protein for through the day and pre workout and milk protein for slow release at night. I can honestly say its one of the best I have taken and will be ordering again as I have now come to the end. The flavours are good except the egg whites, but add a bit of strawberry nesquick sorts that out. I started the course around 90kg carrying a bit of bulk but also fat. I have ended the course now at 96kg but have leaned right down even through gaining size and strength. I know people who have dealt with my protein the past month and have had trouble with orders and delivery but I think they have sorted it now. Any more questions just ask mate. Thanks Jake Rebel
Wash
My brother uses them and they are pretty good, pricing isn't bad either.
Rebel
I have used both myprotein and bulkpowders. Much of a muchness in terms of products, quality and pricing. I use bulkpowders more and have never had any issues with quality or service. I use their Ultra whey protein isolate 97%, Ultra fine scottish oats, Creatine, L-Glutamine, BCAA powders, a stack that works very well for me and so much cheaper than the named brands. Also has no jasty additives or fillers.

Rebel
Don't get too hung up on the creatine myth. You'll read plenty on which type is best (monohydrate, creapure, ethyl esther etc), if taken properly as long as the quality is good I have found the monohydrate to be perfectly adequate and alot more cost effective. Supplements will never replace a proper diet, simply support your training and recovery and give you the extra meals (protein) you require if you're unable to eat 6 plus meals per day. Definitely include some BCAAs for recovery, powder works well disolved in water before, during and after but tastes like hell if used unflavoured or with too little water but does enter the blood stream faster than the tablet variety. You can spend an absolute fortune if you get carried away but you're on the right track Dr T
Duracell Bunny
Just use the shakes as a top up and to keep you going etc.... but remember just eat like a beast!!!! Dr T, shafz and Rebel
Kenkus28
I know nothing beats a good diet, like the saying goes abs are made in the kitchen. lol. i have never gone crazy just used maximuscle promax diet and add bcca in it during my workouts. and I also take reflex CLA and thats about it really.. been doing loads of high reps and low weights as my major workout and then go heavy 3 times a week using DTP. Will69176
My protein offers good value for money, I used to swear built when I was training, up until the point when realised superdrol, chicken and turkey was way more effective! Dr T
yep, if you're not eating 400 - 500g of meat at dinner time, i'd go there first. Like bunny I used HurricaneXS with great results, put a bit of fat on too but ended up at 103kgs and strong as an ox, until i pulled my back putting a 195kg deadlift back down. Then i moved to myprotein's impact whey and making protein icecream from their milk protein while i crash dieted down to 83kgs. I think myprotein's stuff is good, there are a few horror stories about atm regarding their customer service as they are going through some growing pains, i started using them back in the day when there stuff came in clear plastic bags with minimal info stamped on them. A fr cry from the maximuscle rivaling marketing machine they've turned into now. as with all sups, don't get fooled by the marketing, think about your goals, then think what diet would help me with that, then get a sup with those things in it. I stopped using maximuscle for that reason, so much sugar in their stuff. makes you 'feel' good when you have it, which makes you buy it cos you think it's working, but muscles aren't carved from sugar as we all know. Likewise if you're bulking don't shy away from carbs, that's where hurricane XS comes in, its a meal in a shake. much better for bulking as you need the calories. Anyway i'll get off my soapbox, good luck to you man. Seems like theres a few of us on here that love the lifting. Rebel
mit
MyProtein is really good. The unflavoured whey protein is actually nice on its own if you mix with milk. The protein bars aren't bad either. I've got a box of protein muffins but I'm a bit scared to try them lol
Kenkus28
Yeah i used maximuscle and as much as it works its just too sweet and too flavoured plus the price tag is silly. Am not really looking to bulk as am 6ft 2. and do not want to look like a hulk as i have great tendencies of gaining muscles mass really fast but at the sametime i can add fat just looking to go back to my swimming days well i say go back i mean almost go back. A slimmer leaner physique and flatter gut am good to go. And then slowly work on the ripped athletic look. Thanks so much guys. If anyone is in the northwest london area and wants a gym buddy a few days a week. Give me a shout am always ready. sebgreen
Check out bulkpowders.co.uk I, and many other recently have had massive issues with myprotien. shafz
no problems using myprotein, ordered and arrived a couple of days later. Used their own branded whey...oh boy...did it give me stomach problems. After a bit of research i switch to Whey isolate which solved the problem. the BEST tasting one i have had to far is Optimum nutrition cappuccino flavour and double chocolate (not the cheapest whey though ) also used bulkpowders for BCAA and Creatine As mentions dont really on shakes for most of your protein intake...Food is king! sorting your diet out and eating right is a must if you want to make good gains
mit
I just find protein bars are a quick and convenient dinner substitute that stops me being hungry tbh As above though really you don't need any protein supplements if you're eating properly. You can get a bit of tuna in a tin for about what a protein bar costs you, but the tuna is a natural product and not full of chemicals etc.
carmandan
I use Impact Whey protein from myprotein.com, I think it's a good idea to switch to them though as they do good quality products which are quite cheap, however some people have complained about the delivery not being consistent, I myself have never had any problems though, here is a review on Impact whey http://www.provenpro...protein-review/ Edit: Spelling is not my strong point! harry1888
Google panorama when they did the investigation into all these protein shakes etc! Iv never used it since! I work out 4-5 times per week, and was using protein shakes everyday! Untill i watched this panorama episode! To be fair the protein shakes give u a decent amount of protein which in turn helps with muscle recovery! Depending on what you are trying to gain then i would suggest using creatine, which is proven to work and i have used this many times also! For the price of these protein drinks ur best having a better food diet with things like tuna and sweet potatos and chicken! Im speaking from experience, i weigh 15.5 stone and can bench press 160kg!
