Mike-
Hey guyz, Picked up my 330 on Friday but was super busy so only got round to writing some CDs until the Monday, so had been living with Capital FM for a while which made me want to injure myself. I wrote 2 CDs and they worked for about 2 hours, went to switch from CD 5 to CD 6 and it got stuck. Now the cartridge won't eject and it says 'no magazine'. It changed CDs fine beforehand. Is there an easy fix for this before I whittle away at my day off tomorrow trying to prise it out? Any ideas of the cause? Maybe it was the supermarket brand CDs I used. Thanks, Mike. Mike-
Cool, the headunit or the CD changer unit? Although I guess it'd have the same effect.
joewatkiss
Found these floating about on the internet, the first helped me - 'I had this problem and did a bunch of searching on the net until I found the answer. There's a place the magazine hooks or clicks into that eventually wears and the magazine warps due to the heat in the trunk over time. You need a thin piece of hard cardboard, thin plastic ruler or something like that (a credit card is not long enough to reach the latch). It needs to be about 4 or 5 inches and strong enough to pop the latch. Slide it down on one side and pull it across. I can't remember which side you do it on, but I think it's right to left. If not, try the other side. I had to play with it a bit but after about 5 minutes of fiddling with it I got it to unlatch so I could pop it out.' 'I bought a used cd changer for my e39 on ebay and once I had it installed the magazine would not eject. It would make a faint clicking noise like the eject mechanism was trying to do its thing, but it would not come out. I removed the four small screws from the top of the changer and one small screw from the back (to loosen the small box still attached by wires). I then lifted the sheet metal top off and was able to look down into the player. I could see that one of the parts of the magazine that slid the cd into the changer (one of six) had not fully retracted back into the magazine. I was able to use a small screw driver to work the tray back fully into the magazine. After hooking the plugs back in and powering up, I was able to push the eject button and the magazine came out as it should. It works fineand I've had no further trouble with it.' Hope they help you too
joewatkiss
Foorgot to mention is happened again to me, i disconnected and reconnected the battery to see if it would make the changer do one of those 'CD Check' things they do when you put the magazine in at first, im not sure if it did but it started working again.. Mike-
Brilliant, cheers. I actually forgot about Google and enjoy bringing my E46 problems to you all instead. Hopefully it'll be a simple fix then I can get the rotary out and have some more fun. Many thanks. Mike.

Mike-
Messed around with this today and can honestly say I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Got it removed and a stuck empty CD tray pushed back in, then it worked. Went to put the case back on etc, tested it again and it no longer worked. Been through various trial and error and pushing CDs back into place and putting discs in different places, now it seems to function fine but just says 'no disc' all the time. If anyone has a BMW single load CD player I'll happily swap.
Mike-
Been looking at new CD changers on eBay but they're about £50 so has anyone ever used one of these before: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221180476898?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Then I can fiddle with the CD changer when it's summer and I'm more inclined to stay outside for longer than 30 minutes.
