Will take it off road and do it myself at my mates garage. Mates got all the tools. Also got a respray place opposite. So they can respray the parts too( all the underneath). Might get it done in 2 months time. Edited January 6, 2015 by sive s M3NXN

M3NXN
If it's not cracked are you going to do the reinforcement instead? sive s
sive s
If it's not cracked are you going to do the reinforcement instead?Good point. Need to think what's the best option. Been reading the threads on cutters. Might do the reinforcement. But also heard the subframe filler is a option. Not sure if it's a good idea. Also some people have said the coupe suffers more than the vert. Getting mixed opinions on this. The bushs do need a change. As I checked them when I was doing the coilovers. Some were gone. So might be next thing too fix. Heard that the subframe cracks are due too poor bmw bushs. Has yours been done. Jay.
Sive, its nothing to do with the bushes, its the poor original design of the strengthening of the chassis around the rear subframe, which causes excess tension & load on the points of anchoring around the subframe.Reddish plates are the best option, filler seems like a bit of a bodge? I'm no expert on them but i had mine welded at a local indy for £300. sive s

Got a person who can supply and fix it for like 750 -800. Including the kit. if I want he can replace the brake line and bushs for a extra 150. But need to get the parts for that. Is that a good price. Seen his work. Few people I know have used him.
Jay.
Seems a bit expensive to me, seeing as i paid £300 to have plates welded in, but that was in 2009.I think if its done with reddish plates supplied by them its probably not too bad.You must havee spent a fortune on that car already? M3NXN
I'm with Jay in saying go for plates, filler does just sound like a bodge. It's like using expanding foam on the cracks of a house that's subsiding instead of underpinning it! Mine hasn't been done but I was just discussing it a couple of week ago with my mechanic, if he would do it if I got the plates from reddish. Fortunately mine is intact and has only been driven home since last check. It probably won't move untik MOT time in June now so no rush for me Edited January 6, 2015 by M3NXN sive s and Jay.

Might see if he can knock a bit off. Yeah it's with Redish plates. Yeah it's been expensive. But getting some money back. A lot of the parts which were fitted by the previous owner. I am selling them. Like the subs going for 350. Csl alloys are getting sold for 350. Once I take the alpine unit out. Will get some good money for that. Still got the diffusser. Then loads stuff from my other car. So it will kind of break even. Eventually. Lol. Trying not to tell my dad about the subframe. As he was not happy. Me spending money more on the car. My excuse. Rather get it fixed now. Bigger issues will appear if I don't.

Jay.
Yeah, good on you doing it before it goes Sive, take it on the chin now whilst you can still sell all the stuff that it come with rather than it being an un accounted for cost later down the line. They quoted 600 for the reinforcement and they build Le Mans m3 so I think they would do a good job. Reddish won't use the foam if the frame is cracked, if your frame isn't cracked the filler option is just as good as the metal option as it stops the metal from flexing. I only know this as when mine went I asked redish what they thought, in the end BMW covered mine. Edited January 6, 2015 by SpanneR
