L333JSA
....by putting unnecessary 535d injectors in you stand more chance of over fuelling the engine..... Absolute b*ll*cks!!! If it's properly mapped then there is zero chance of this!!
jassi
Absolute b*ll*cks!!! If it's properly mapped then there is zero chance of this!! Fair play thats what i thought but as they have said that they can reach beyond 300bhp with standard injectors what is the point? When you concider the extra power you will get with 535d injectors against how much they will cost you is it worth it you really have to weigh that up too. L333JSA
It's a case of getting that power and doing it safely so you're not on the limit of the standard injectors. I have no doubt at all that the standard injectors are probably good for 320-330bhp but they will probably be close to being maxed out at that level - running injectors at nearly 100% duty really isnt advisable. Why do you think BMW fitted larger injectors to the 535d....why.....because they wanted to make sure the power was achieved safely. Entirely upto you though.....it's your car and you will need to trust the people who are mapping it for you to do their job properly - theres an awful lot of cowboys out there. jassi
Have you got any part numbers for the 535d injectors (bosch part numbers not the bmw part numbers) as i have a diesel company that are able to supply the injector nozzels. L333JSA
There's another thread with them on if you do a search. Haven't got them to hand at the moment.
jassi
will look into getting the nozzels in that case as it will be easier for me to change them now while the engine is out of the car.

jassi
I know its a 184bhp but stating they are more than capable so why wouldn't the 204bhp ones be. Well I have just spoke to Simon from e-maps who is going to confirm the flow of both e46 204bhp and the e60 272bhp.
L333JSA
Original nozzles can supply fuel enough for about 270hp. I thought you wanted more than 270bhp. Plus 184 and 204 injectors are again different
jassi
I thought you wanted more than 270bhp. Plus 184 and 204 injectors are again different Lee trying to get anything over 300bhp, just had confirmation yesterday from Simon from e-maps who says the standard injectors are good for over 300bhp which a couple of other mappers have stated so I'm happy with to be fair so 535d injectors/ nozzels are off my list will be intresting to see how much more power you get with them if you decide to go with them. dannyboy759
From reading into this the injectors are quite happy delivering enough fuel for this car in any state of tune and the 335d ones arent needed! And if you look at the Bosch figures the flow rates arent that different anyway. The 300bhp + hill climb cars that ive seen still run standard injectors. The week points on the car and the parts that stop you from tuning the car higher are the clutch and the transmission/Drivline and it has been known for gearboxes, props, diffs and diff to axle propshafts to fail under the toque of even a moderate tune. The hill climb cars are over 720Nm and obviously have all new trans and running gear to cope, to run this much grunt on standard parts is mechanical suicide and the reason tuners will limit torque on most of thier tunes to advoid premature compoinant failure. The biggest restriction on these cars is the turbo and the size of the compressor and turbine To be fair a car with just over 280bhp which is easly accessable is perfectly good enough if done right with a map thats not too agressive and one that doesnt just dump all the power in one big spike!! jassi
Or course the torque will have to be tamed down with a smooth delivery throught the rev range. The weak links are the turbo and clutch I already have the LSD I'm hoping for 300bhp + but time will tell

dannyboy759
Until you get used to it!!!! lol that is a point! Having said that my car should be well over that as its got a hybrid turbo so there probaly isnt much more power to get out of it without killing the transmission. Its the torque thats the big winner, i still get a giggle out of the car pulling away from the council estate brigade in thier STI's and the odd M3, thats the thing thats tickles me lol
L333JSA
Mines got a hybrid too.....except it hasnt been mapped for it yet so doesnt make the slightest bit of difference to the power......if yours hasnt been mapped for it then it wont make a difference either. Cg Motorsport, I'm sticking with the dmf as they advised that's what it's designed to work with, £290 all in under trade. Cg motorsport? This neeeeeds an smf, then things can get funky! Cg Motorsport staying with the dmf don't really fancy going smf plus cg and celtic tunning were advising against it. Rich_D
