LeeMutz
OK, so since I got the car the drivers speaker doesn't work, so went out today with a multimeter.. Unplugged the cartridge on the amp, and tested each channel output, all read 4 ohm - seemed fine! I then plugged the cartridge back in, tested through the back of the cartridge, all read 4 ohm but drivers front read zero, thought that was strange!! Ignition on and radio on, cartridge unplugged = all 4 ohm, apart from the faulty speaker, which was pumping out off the scale!! So, I am guessing the amp needs repairing.. Anyone used anyone like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bmw-becker-bm54-radio-module-repair3-5-7-x5-range-rover-aux-lead-for-ipod-/170883291070?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c97017be ? Or can you recommend anyone else who does the repair? Intrigued by the fact they all (on eBay) claim they can up the amp from 4 x 20w, to circa 4 x 50w.. Sounds good!! Any advice appreciated as my sound system is s**te!
JasonK
Go to www.m3cutters.co.uk and look in the Carphonics section. Baris (Xkalibar) is the man. He will repair/replace your amps as per the ebay ad, but is someone who has good reviews that you can trust! A few reviews on the forum to look at too.
