jymmm
Has anyone here used this - http://www.ivini-apps.com/bmwhat-bmw-diagnosis.html i've downloaded the free lite version and it connects ok to my bluetooth ODB reader and knows that its connected to a 325ci; scans the fault codes ok etc. The free version doesn't actually let you see the fault codes as you have to send them off to the app developers and they send you a 'free report' The full version lets to do what you like The downside is its £
mit
I have the full version. Never even tried using it though...
jymmm
well its looks like a cable is needed. The bluetooth doesn't pick anything up. Torque app works ok via bluetooth though
mit
You need a wifi OBD scanner for it, not a cable. The Bluetooth ones don't work on iPhone with this app, not sure about android. I've got the guy's email address if you want to ask him any questions directly! robocoupe
IIRC earlier e46 models only work with cable for this app on android.
jymmm
i'm using it on android. Which cable works with it?
robocoupe
Something like this... http://www.alpha-bid.com/vagusb.html However, for the price of that and the cost of the fully paid app you would probably be better getting this... http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Diagnostic-Software-Cable-lead-Ediabas-Inpa-DIS-SSS-OBD-lead-/151171526106?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2332866dda

pete_h
I would recommend getting a vagcom cable and doing a bit of soldering , can read and reset codes all for £7 Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Beezer
I tried it tonight with my Samsung Galaxy S4, a 99p OTG USB cable & a Cable Shack EDIABAS interface. It was able to read 8 ecu's for diagnostics and told me it has 2 fault codes. For coding, it could "see" the GM, LZ and SM modules. It managed to backup the data from GM and LZ modules & tell me what was set, but obviously I couldn't code it. It couldn't read the SM module even though it saw it. It's a useful app and no doubt well worth the money if you're in the trade, but and enthusiast wouldn't use it enough to warrant the cost imo, especially seeing as it's £38 + the cost of a cable (£25). It's great if you have a newer BMW but isn't much use with an e46!
