Rich BM
Had my E36 318is for 6 years and never had a day when I regretted buying it and loved it every time I drove it, no matter if it was a 10 mile or 100 mile journey. I was lucky that I didnt have to spend a fortune on it and it sailed through the MOT's too. Now got a great 320d but still miss my E36 Few pics. Will upload some more later. RichardE
I always had a soft spot for my 318iS - until someone stole it. Upgraded from 16" wheels to 17" and fitted M3 mirrors + splitter and front mesh lowe grill. Before and after:
john.med
I spent 6 years in a Renault missing my old 320i e36. That's why I bought another BMW last month. Here's some rubbish pics of the old 'metallic aubergene' barge with //M gear knob!!
Guest Pablo_Emms
My first E36 was a Boston Green 325i coupe, having had a succession of snotters over the years, I can't describe the joy of owning this car ! It originally came with 15" alloys, these were upgraded to 16" double 5 spokes. Then one day... A tree branch landed on the car, whilst I was driving it ! So after the insurance payout, came an early 328 Sport.. It wasnt the greatest example in the world, so it had to go, to be replaced with another 328 Sport. This was a truly great car, absolutely loved it, however I had an itch, that had to be scratched.. ..an M3 Evo Convertible, wow, the engine, say no more, but not the most reliable car, so it too had to go. Which brings us to the E46 - And what a step up that was, just a much better car than the E36 in so many ways (in my opinion) Edited February 15, 2012 by Pablo_Emms
Scotty540
I had 2 E36's, a 325i SE Saloon and a '96 328i Sport in Hellrot. I miss the fun I had in my Old 328i sport, I spent a fair bit of money on that car! It had the M50 Manifold, BBTB, a Dave F (Dyno'ed at 180.1 Bhp at the rear wheels, 225 at the crank). Had sportlines on it, polybushes all round, M3 reinforcement plates in the rear due to me ripping the rear end out of it LOL. Best mod was swapping the 2.93:1 LSD for a 3.0 M3 one which was 3.15:1. Anyway some pics: The 325i: And then the 328 Sport: My Favorite picture of that car:

simonlpearce
Only just spotted this thread! I moved from an E46 to an E36, and im soo happy i did. The E36 whilst less refined is much more of a drivers car! Im not saying that just because i have an M3 Evo and its faster, as i also have an E36 325 and this is also much more fun to drive than the E46 330 ever was! mit

mintimperial
I don't miss my E36 because I still have it...late 98 m sport loon in titty silver. Imported it from Japan as it was a bargain with 40k on the clock. Only has 43k on it now. In Japan after 10 years you need to pay silly tax on cars because of emissions hence why loads of them even low mileage are shipped out. Love driving the E36 Edited March 29, 2012 by mintimperial
cov330ci
I miss mine, my first BM was a 323i coupe, sold to buy 330ci. Both enjoyable cars, love them equally, admittedly crap pic of the e36!

Mike-
I miss mine terribly. But also because I had it during third year which was one of the best years of my life so it's got some memories attached to it which the E46 doesn't. Some of the comparisons with the E46 are unfair. Drive anything else and you'll see how much of a driver's car an E46 really is. 1 by M Rawlings, on Flickr grantmacdee
