blynham
After searching on here, i'm pretty sure my GM5 module has gone. The drivers door will only unlock when you insert the key but will lock when you press the button. Seen some on ebay for about £30 so are these an easy fix? Would i be good to go if i swapped them or would the new one need to be coded to the car? Help is greatly appreciated Cheers, Brad

blynham
Those benltey keys look damn nice lol. A bit of a treck for me to get it coded though. Don't dare to go my BMW dealer, even with trade discount I can imagine the price would be ridiculous. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
RedDevil
I think its 115 to 120 from bmw depending on the dealer. Bm keys you can send off your ecu key box and they can code a new key that way but you will be without a car till it comes back?
blynham
If I ordered a Bentley key from them could I get it coded at my local BMW? Can't be without a car for even a day lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Chimp Choker
No. He codes his own keys. Are you 100% sure the issues is your old key? www.bobsbmw.co.uk
blynham
No I don't, cause I've only got the 1 key. Originally thought it was the module Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
CharlE46
Do all the doors (including fuel filler cap) unlock/lock when you use the key in the door? if they do then the GM5 is ok and it will be the key or FZV module
blynham
No only the drivers door unlocks when i use the key. Guess its the GM5 then
CharlE46
No only the drivers door unlocks when i use the key. Guess its the GM5 then Does sound like the relays inside the GM5 have failed, you can get it repaired easily enough. There are a few people out there offering the service, one quick example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Repair-Service-BMW-GM5-Central-Locking-Relay-Fault-3-Series-M3-Z8-X3-Z4-E46-/271515944101?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f379c84a5 In my opinion getting your original repaired is easier than a replacement module which will then need coding to the car. With the module removed you can still drive the car but you wont have any central locking or windscreen wipers. HTH Charlie
